Question Keyless Entry System "Upgrade"

Hi Guys,

I recently got a 2001 CL-S and I was looking at getting a nicer looking key (later model Acura switchblade style).

Now I have read many threads on this forum stating that it cannot be done due to size differences between our keyless transmitter and the casing etc...

So on to my question:

Can I just swap in a keyless module from a more recent Acura into my CL and use that for the keyless then remove the immobilizer chip from the current key and tape/glue it inside of a newer switchblade remote's casing granted the FCC-ID matches between the new keyless remote and module?

If I have made anyone's head explode, I am sorry...also thanks for the help in advance!

I doubt it will work. But give it a shot and let us know.

Wont work.

The furthest you can get is getting the key milled and cut and the immobilizer paired. But the remote itself wont work.

Yeah I tried it. I was able to get the car to start & use the key, but the remote functions didn't work.
