k so what does maint'required MEAN??

I kno this is gonna pound pure BOOM but plz bare with me.

I was driving for a while last night and on my 120 km journey the maint light came on...

I've been doing my own oil changes and haven't disconected the battery for like.... 10000km

so my ? is... does the car think it's NOT had maintenance to it so the light comes on after a certain amount of KM???

I just disconected the batery and am waiting to see if/when i clears

I'm 99% maint'required means "you haven't soent money on your car" lol

BUT I WANNA BE SURE...

Anyone wanna fill me in?

Thanks

wow, really hard to understand you!!! take a quick look at your owners manual. it should tell you how to reset it. the maintenance required light comes on based on mileage driven between resets of the light.

Check your scheduled maintenance section of the owners manual. You're probably due for a flush, belt, plugs, inspection, etc.

To clear the annoying light:

Turn the car off.
Hold the two buttons in that are to the right of the gauge cluster (the reset button for the trip meter and the select button).
Turn the key on with the buttons held in.
The maint light will light up. Hold these in until it goes off.
Turn car off.
Turn car on.

Light should be gone.

Not to be rude man but there is an edit button on the forums, make sure you proofread what you typed because typing like that is grounds for getting flamed.

I want it to coresponde with my actuall oil changes

how do I know Its been reset (if its not on because if it is on you know because it goes off )

it starts to come on at like 6500 miles, it will blink 5 times when you start the car.

at 7000 miles, it will blink like 10 times. at 7500 miles, it will stay on solid.

so if you want it to correspond with your oil changes, just dont reset the light until you do the next oil change.

Just reset it when you do an oil change.

when it comes on, just leave it on and ignore it till your next oil change.

I don't think I'd advocate running 7000 miles on an oil change on a high mile V6 - even if it is a Honda....

the more u keep her mint the more i'll keep you arriving at ur destination on time and in style.

last thing u want is for some motor problem to occur then think to urself I'm a cheap ass and this is why it's crapping out on me.

u'd wanna kick urself in the face.

Especially a relatively high RPM V6 at that.
