K&N filter
The K&N provides higher airflow in a re-usable format. Over the long run it's cheaper then replacing the filter with disposable ones.
I don't think there is any real power gain, and I noticed no significant MPG gain either. I know the box says so, but I doubt it.
If you want gains from your intake, I'd go to a real cold air system (your choice of AEM, Injen, Comptech, or home made).

I've been using K&N filters for years in my cars and trucks. I like the fact that the filter can be used without replacement which saves me money. There is a power gain, but very little...I think mostly midrange.

like I said, you need to remove the resonator on your stock intake box. It contricts air flow, and removing it increases flow, more flow, more power. And it's very easy to do. Coupled with your K&N or Comptech high flow filter, you will feel a difference.
