There are some people that don't think it will get you much hp…

There are some people who think K&Ns doesn’t filter dirt out well enough…

On the 2001 Maxima (3L), SCC, got 8HP by switch from stock to K&N (but that is a different car) -- I'm not saying you will get anything close to that...

I happen to like the K&N filter (on my AEM cold air intake) *and * there are some people who will put the:

Replace the stock filter with a K&N and remove some more stuff below the filter box (to get some more power). (There is a lower tube and resonator below the air filter box)

Comptech also makes an oiled-foam replacement that a lot of people like.

So – Comptech is at www.comptechusa.com

OR

Check out the K&N -- and search for the correct part #

(I don't know anyone who has a dyno of it vs. the stock on)

(And opinions are all over the place on this...)

If you want to keep you car quiet, go with either a K&N (p.n. 33-2178 for CLS/TLS) or Comptech drop-in.

If you don't mind uping the NVH (noise vibration harshness) factor just a bit, get either an AEM or Injen CAI. Much better than a drop-in, but it is a bit noisy at high rpm.

I've used both (K&N drop-in, and AEM CAI.) I really don't mind a bit more noise from a CAI for the power it gives me.

That's my reason. I got the stock K&N filter last night. I will install it on Saturday. I just didn't want the added noise. I like the quietness of the Acura. Part Number is 33-2178
