Just a thought
I just finished reading a couple threads where domestic enthusiasts and the CL folks here were blasting one another cars. Can't we all just agree to disagree? In this particular thread, some mustang loving idiot came in here and ran his mouth (or fingers, or whatever), but can't we have a little class? Isn't that what the CL is, a classy luxury car? A comparison between it and the Mustang isn't even relevant, the cars were designed with two very different things in mind.
Perhaps we forget that we're driving luxury cars, the Mustang is a sport/touring car. The only possible comparison is times, we're never going to win with HP, a CL-S costs like 10k more than a Mustang GT. The GT weighs less, and has more HP stock with plenty of cash left over for mods.
The Mustang doesn't, and will probably never, have climate control and heated/memory seats or an automanual tranny (that I love since I do a lot of city driving, but still like to downshift on the xpressway.)
I regularly drive v6 stangs because my father and girlfriend both have them, and I get more stares in them than I do in my CL. They're a rough ride, and they're loud, and the CL-P beats them easily. They're also really fun to drive. They just feel different, kind of raw, kind of old school. Thats the feeling they were meant to evoke.
I probably sound like I prefer the Mustang, which is untrue, but you all already know the feeling of driving a CL so I won't bother to discuss it. I'm just saying that we argue about which is better, when there is really no comparison. If we were just talking numbers it would make sense, but to call somone elses ride a POS just because it isn't our style is really kind of ignorant.
Its not like these people are saying "Daewoo's Rule," or "My Hundyai beats the shit out of a Bently." The fact that they come here at all is ridiculous, but like your mom said, they're just trying to get to you, and if you ignore they'll go away.
PS. Sorry to ramble.
