Since you’re having it installed there, what’s the OFFICIAL word from Park Avenue Acura on the Supercharger’s effect on your warranty???
Are you covered if she blows up a couple of months from now?

PAA warranties all of it's work. Supercharger will not void any warranty work unless you do something stupid.

if something goes in the engine while the car is supercharged your out of luck no warranty but that why comptech designed the blower with low boost 5.5psi.i talked to comptech and they said you will get normal life out of your motor with the blower because your not boosting it so high.they do alot of research on our cars before even thinking about designing something like this.their supercharged car has been running almost a year now and running great.i would not have supercharged my car if i didnt believe in comptech

It will be interesting to drive both the turbo and S/C version of the same car with the same boost-level!

Obviously the SC would be instantaneous in response but it appears with your set up the difference would be minimal (except below 2500 revs... )

I would suspect that the gain difference would be minimal at this boost level; probably on the order of a couple of percent max given to the intercooled turbo. But increase the boost further and the intercooled turbo would really show its superiority.

Congrats, I haven't gotten word on when mine will be delivered but I expect sometime next week. So I should have it installed by the following weekend.

I'm sure you are as anxious as I am...

That's the full 5.5 psi at 2500 RPM... with boost building up from 1800 RPM... I don't think the S/C has 5.5psi at 2.5K, does it?

Most positive displacement (Magnuson/Eaton Gen IV in this case) blower makes practically the same boost at any RPM. The boost would be about 5.5 PSI at WOT from 500 revs to 7000 revs +/- a small amount for varying engine loads. That it the great part about these types of blowers, consistent boost throughout the rev band. It really makes the car feel like it has a larger displacement motor; in this case it would be like the 3.2 was increased to 4.4 liters.

You may be thinking of centrifugal blowers that increase boost as the revs climb. That is not the case with a positive displacement blower.

The positive displacement blower moves x amount of air per revolution; 62 cubic inches for the blower used in the Comptech kit. The engine has a displacement of about 196 cubic inches but since it is a four stroke it could only move half that or 98 cubic inches per revolution. To achieve 5.5 lbs boost the blower would then need to be driven 2.16 times faster than the engine speed. This then provides the consistent boost.

scalbert, are you planning on picking up the comptech pulley and belt that give additional boost on the S/C???? from what i understand, its pretty cheap (under 100 bucks) and gives at least another 1 lbs or more of boost!!

Mostly likely I will. But I'd prefer to wait until they have it posted on the website as a true product.

$90/hr isn't a bit too much?! I know the Acura would instate a dealer hourly rate of $60/hr.
So,$500 is the max you should spnd on installing the SC.
