Hi all, I just ordered the Sumitomo HTR+ in the 235/45/17 size for my stock-o-matic CL-S. Based on what I've read, I'm hoping for a a night and day difference from the worn, stock tires.

Anyway, the sub-plot of this post is just to give big props to TireRack. They actually called me just to confirm that I wanted that "odd" tire size for my CL before they shipped 'em out. The guy on the phone mentioned that that was a little bigger (width-wise) than they usually sold for the Stock CL-S rim. I informed him that I did, in fact, want the 235/45/17 tire, and was aware that it was not the "normal" size.

Now that's great service!

I paid $102 per tire for 4 tires, plus $32 for 2-day FedEx. I probably could've haggled if I called them, but $20 or whatever is not that big a deal...and at $102 for this tire, that's a great value anyway.

I read a recent post that said getting all 4 wheels aligned properly with this size tire can be a bit of a challenge, but I'll deal with that when the time comes.

Does anyone have a good recommendations of where to get them mounted/balanced in the greater Rockville, Maryland area?

I go to the one in Gaithersburg and have them rotate my tires. Never had a problem and the employees are great.

Yeah, that works. Or I could get the tech I use at Rosenthal to do it.
