Just my luck...................
Just my luck...................
So the other day I was leaving work and I heard a load squeal coming from my belts. I didn't think much of it really. I let the car sit for a moment, looked under the hood and everything seemed to be turning fine. About 10 min down the road both my Battery light and Parking Light turned on. I was not happy to say the least.
So I got home checked my brake fluid, and threw a multimeter on to check the power levels. Everything seemed fine.
So I decided to take it in to the dealership to have a look. On the way there my dash starting to lose power. The tach, information cluster, everything would just shut down and then flick right back on again. Called a friend up and he basicly said my alternator is gone. Well I got it in to the dealership, looked under the hood with one of the techs and at first it seemed one of my belts had mysteriously stretched and had about an extra inch of flex. Come to find out, my Alternator Bracket had completely snapped. It was just good luck I made it in to the dealership on the 15 mile drive. The entire way power just kept shutting down and turning right back on.
I was/am pissed. More so the Boston meet at Fuddruckers is tomorrow, and I might not be able to show, cause I don't know if I'll have my car back by then.

yea well. I was worried the Acura warranty I got for it wouldn't cover it. My alternator was starting to seize, and the bracket snapped on it.
but the whole thing is covered. Got a new alternator, bracket, and come to find out my rear bushings and Stabilizer links were going. So those got replaced as well.
So all and all.

How the hell do you get a "timing belt snapped" from that description?
Timing belt snaps = bent valves for the most part
