Is it just me or do car journalists prefer the TL-S?

I'm reading articles from journalists who've just read the TL-S (they had tested out the CL-S in the past). They act like this is a new beast out of nowhere "sporting an improved and more efficient 260hp engine" -- they make no mention of it first appearing in the CL-S. They act like the TL-S is a fantastic new improvement, leaps and bounds over the old model.

Anyone else perceive this?

I may be wrong, but I don't recall the CL-S getting this kind of attention (at least not from these same journalists whom I am now reading up on).

It's a shame that journalists are biased. If you think about it, the cars they absolutely love are sport sedans (read four doors) and tiny sports cars. Hell, Motor Trends named the Prowler car of the year. Is that even a car? It's looks like an ice cream truck on a neon platform. I could be wrong but sometimes I think the car magazines get paid by the auto manufacturers to say good things about their car and the more they pay the better the review. Though I have to say, autoweek probably is the least biased. I like that magazine because it actually tells you news about the auto industry when it happens not two months later.

Just my $0.02.

Yea, I noticed that too...

I dont know how they can act like this is the new beast from the east... its just a 4-door CLS. heh.

I gotta agree with seg and say that Autoweek is the least biased... and I might say Automobile is the most straight forward monthly.

btw, welcome to the board Crip... long, long time no see!

Seems like 2 doors = a 2 room apartment

and

4 doors = a 4 room home in Beverly Hills

The Dr. thinks some journalists are very, very set in their ways and since they liked the old TL, then TL-S must be that much better.

When the CL-S came knocking and looked like a BMW challenger, the guys at Car and Grifter and Rodent-Tracks couldn't get untracked from their current mind set.

The doctor recommends about 10 Watt-Seconds to the brains at Car-n-grifter and Rodent-Tracks.

I gotta agree with you bro...

I think maybe part of it was the CL took a model year off...that was quite detrimental to it's image...the TL has been around for a while now, this is the 3rd different iteration it's seen here.

When the CL came out I saw a tiny quip in C&D about it, now the TL-S is already in a major 4dr comparo but the IS300 which is a brand new model is not, coincidence, prolly not...

Yes the TLS gets way more hype on comercials and reviews. But, we as owners know that our cars are faster and handle better than the TLS. This makes me mad when all they do is talk about the TLS, but that means less people know about the power of our car, which makes it more of a sleeper. if u really wana piss people off, go around and beat the shit out of TLS owners ina race, that will shut em up real good!

We shouldn't be competing with our 'bro' the TL/TL-S.. but it still gets to me when I read those shi**y mags that say our cars do 0-60 in like 6.7-6.8 secs.. let's just go out and kill those Mitsu 3000's/Eclipse's and Lexus SC400's/IS300's
