Just got Dunlop SP Sport 5000's (today)

Aside from blowing almost a grand on 4 tires (with roadhazard) and an (lifetime) alignment, I am liking the tires so far.

I noticed right away that the car was "quieter" and the roads don't seem to be as harsh. Handling seems to be excellent--but I couldn't do much on the backroads and in traffic.

The wheels look a little funny to me because the tires stick out more than the wheels (good for curbs).

The guy who did my alignment said that the toe was WAY off (and why I saw such a dramatic slope to the tires when I rotated them last time).

Hopefully I can get up to highway speed on my way home to see how the tires really are.

Thanks to all of you who have contributed to my decision (to buy these over just getting the OEM tires from the dealer).

Charlie

Good morning Scooter,

I think he opens at 8 o'clock. What does Tire Rack want for these tires? Charlie usually charges what Tire Rack charges, but includes: new valve, mounting, balancing and disposal of the old tires. Good luck! Maris

well right now, the tires are $200 a pop on TireRack, and i just want the tires alone, so the hardest he'll have to work is wheelin the tires out to me

I got the same size 215 50 17. I know there's another size thats a bit bigger but it has a lower weight rating and the installer cautioned against it. (It is cheaper though--go figure).

Finally got up to 'normal' highway speeds this moring on my way to work. A definite improvement. Theses tires seem to absorb a lot more of the road imperfections and they are definitely quieter.

Absolutely. I've never driven my CL nor has it ever SEEN snow.

I don't need an all season tire!
