Just got an '03 CL-S! Questions!
Hi,
I finally have gotten my first car. A 2003 CL Type-S (Black ext., Parchment int.). I got it w/ around 200 miles because my local dealer was out of black CL-S's, so one a state away had to be driven to my house. I LOVE the car!
Some questions though, I hope I'm not too picky. I've driven Jeeps, a minivan, and a new Toyota Solara Convertible, but driving the CL-S is much different. I notice that when accelerating a little bit, then let foot off gas to coast a little (around 40mph, for example) and I notice for like 1/2 sec. the car kinda declerates, it's a little subtle. Is this normal?
Also, how smooth should the car be shifting (auto)? I notice under moderate acceleration, the shift between gears is kinda subtle, like 1/4 to 1/2sec. shifts. I usually never noticed the shifting on the other cars. Again, I could be nit picking, but I hope I ain't having tranny probs on my new fukin car!!

My guess is that it is probably up in the rev range when you let off the gas. When you do that you will notice a sense of deceleration until A) the ECU selects the proper gear or B) you get your foot back in it.

Don't worry guys, I more than appreciative when my parents went out and splurged on a new car. It was not until almost a month of bullshit used car sellers on a 01 CL-S that my parents decided this crap was enough.
For those who are active on this board, I'm the same guy who posted on "Buying an '01 CL-S, Help!" http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...threadid=79350.
For those who REALLY are active, even on the TL forums
(I originally was after a TL-S), I'm the guy who started many big threads w/ many responses including the 7 page, 127 response "TL for a Teenager" http://www.acura-tl.com/forum/showth...0&pagenumber=1
And last but not least, for the ultimate forum goer, on the s2ki S2000 forums, there is a 2 page thread I started called "New Driver Questions" http://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthrea...threadid=42920
Not many 17 year olds go that damn far for a car! Thanks for your responses guys on the declearation, I'm gonna take out my baby right now!

Another question, relating to the "declearation", I've noticed the car kinda "shudders" after releasing gas. Like I accel to 40, let off, car quickly decels, then acels, and decels less again (all this happens over a 3 sec. period) Again, I could be paranoid like usual, but I was planning to go by Acura anyway to get some of those paper floor mat covers! Also, when I roll down my driver side window, my leg can feel the window go down, when touching the door. It just feels weird, and never in any other car I've been in. Just nitpicks guys, but curious.
