Just to clear things up on rotors
This is taken from the pages of the Acura Warranty Policy Manual:
Item:
Brakes
Time and Mileage:
For Duration of new car limited warranty except for friction material.
Coverage:
Brake repairs are covered under the "New Car Limited Warranty" except for friction material wear.
All customer complaints of front brake vibration or pulsation require that you refinish the front rotors on the vehicle, using either the honda disk brake grinder or the kwik-way or snap on on-the-car-lathe.
no other manufacturer's on-the-car rotor refinishing equipment is to be used for Acura warranty repairs Off the car refinishing of front brake rotors is not allowed, because rotor runout cannot be adequately eliminted by this method. Off the car refinishing of rear rotors is acceptable.
Disk replacement under warranty is not allowed unless the disk is beyond the refinishing limit. Whenever the front rotors are replaced, they must be "trued" using the on-the-car grinder or lathe.
i hope this helps beter explain why some people have had there rotors resurfaced instead of having them replaced

there are also alot of factors that contribute to warped rotors, some people in here suffer from it over and over again, while others (myself included) have not had any problems, i have almost 10,000 miles on the car and no problems, also the pads are an update, pads are not shot from rotors being warped, and can be reused, the reason they are being replaced is because the pads are updated (not sure whats different) but they want the most current parts on the car
the policy still remains the same, if the rotors are thick enough to be resurfaced they will be resurfaced, if the measurable amount of runout will exceed the limitations of discard thickness after refinishing then replacements will be put on
anyway, the information i got about rotors being covered is right from the acura policy and procedures manual, - every dealer has one so if you are told that they are not covered, ask them to check the p&p manual

btw cars are not sold with rotor problems, lots of cars have warped rotors, they seem to be more prevelent in hilly or mountain terrains, and it has alot to do with driving habits,
and also dealers don't deny service bullitens, they either did not have the info, it was before the bulliten, updated pads were not available or out of stock at the time of repair
