1) I noticed that you bought the painted TL body kit. Since this kit needs to be cut and repainted to fit the CL, couldn't you have gotten the kit unpainted for less.
2) I noticed that you have "comptech sways" and "comptech sways ties and struts" listed for mods. Do you mean "comptech strutbar and konis"? I've never heard of "comptech sways ties" or "comptech struts".

it needs to be painted after it's modified. it's a waste of $ buying it already painted.

I just talked with Pleasanton Acura and they can still get the TL body kit for 2001 - 2003 for around $1200. The one I'm interested in comes painted in anthracite metalic and has the same paint batch number as my antracite 03 CLS.
I looked at your posting in "2nd Gen gallary" forum but still have a couple of questions if you don't mind.
1) Will the customization of the already painted (possibly already color matched) body kit require repainting it?
Yes, that is why I do not recommend getting it pre painted, also $1200 is a bit high, you can find them for around $850
2) What type of customization is required to make the body kit fit? Is this something I could do myself in my driveway understanding that I'm not very good at body work? Or would you recommend taking it to a body shop?
for sure not a drive way job, I would get a shop to do it. After all, it is an Acura.. don't want to look to ghetto. As far as what needs to be done, if you take it to a body shop who is willing to do the job, I'm more than positive that they can figure it out. But what it comes down to is this, first you have to make the front and rear longer than it is, then you have to shorten both of the sides. Last, new mounting holes has to be fabricated, only some original mounting holes could be used.
3) Would you mind providing some detail?
Of course... Let me know if you have any other questions.
thanks...

I have the TL kit conversion and I used CharlesNguyen post to show my bodyshop guys. They did a good job customizing the way I wanted mine done, and yes it will have to be repainted. LAbor and paint should cost you an additional $1200

Just post a thread on the Blackmarket. I think there are a couple people that have them already modified. I spoke to at least one kid that had a set already cut and painted. You maybe able to save some cash that can be better spent.
