Hi, I've been really having a problem with my dealer fixing the booming sound coming from the sunroof when driving around 35mph. I know many people have gotten this fixed. I was wondering if you guys had the kit to fix this problem. My dealer says that this is normal when you don't have a sunroof deflector, and I'm pretty sure that is not true. The problem is that it's practically impossible for me to make it to your dealership because of my work schedule. Is it possible for anyone to put this kit on, and I was wondering if it would be possible to ship the kit to me, and of course I would pay the shipping costs. If it is possible can you either e-mail me at mehra16@yahoo.com or call me at 212-578-6674
I would really appreciate this.
Thanks,
Sanjay

It is possible to have it fixed. Mine was fixed once by Ramsey Acura and refixed by Park Avenue Acura. Go there and tell them. There is a repair kit and a service bulletin. They told me that if it is not put on correctly, it will not fix the problem.

CLS16- the fix consists of 2 rubber pads that look like pool que tips that go on the feet that hold the air dam. The problem is, the have to be put on in the exaxt spot or they wont work correctly. Its not hard, but does take a bit of practice. I strongly suggest that you have a dealer do it. If necessary, you can drop your car to us on a Tuesday, Wed or Thur evening till 7:45 pm and pick up a loaner then we would fix it the next day for you.

What are you guys talking about? The wind noise from an open sun-roof? Just wanted to be clear on what the discussion is about.

I hardly ever get home before 9pm, that's why I say it's practically impossible for me to make it there, especially since it's so far from where I live. Are there any instructions that come with this kit? If so, maybe I can bring the instructions to my dealer, which is located 5mins. from where I live, and hopefully they can do it. Once again I really appreciate your help.

does this affect all cl-s's, or only those made before a certain date?
In mine, made in July, there is sponge rubber placed within the sunroof lip, where the tabs would hit. Nothing on the tab themselves. I don't notice a booming sound, but then I came from an integra that always made noise.

What is the name of the person that was rude to you at Park Avenue Acura?
I don't work for them I just had the same feeling about one of service guys there and thought.......maybe it's just me.
You bought an expensive car, the last thing thing you should have to deal with is a rude service person.
At least that's the way I feel.

First off, CLS16 was talking about his dealer - NOT PAA. Wayne from PAA gave him the TSB number so the other dealer (not PAA) could look it up to fix it.
Second - why dredge this ANCIENT post out???
Welcome to the board though.

ROFL - Aah, young skywalker - but that was in the interest of amusement, not for berating a stellar dealer.

Sorry that I brought a post back from the dead, and that I misunderstood CLS16's post in the first place.
The reason I was looking for a name is b/c I have dealt with one of the service people before at a different dealership and he was rude then and still is. He received many complaints from the salespeople in the dealership as well as customers who came in for service.
When I came in for my first service @ PAA, I almost had a heart attack to see him. I thought to myself not again.....
Since I have to deal with him all the time I respect him and I am courteous, but inside I still feel he is not a very nice person.
I was just looking to see if anyone could figure out who I am talking about, if you do.....then I'm not the only one with that opinion.
Thanks for welcoming me to the board.......
