Jack Points?

Ok, using a standard 7 ton floor jack and 4 ton jackstands... where is the ideal place to jack the car and place the stands?

The stock jack position (inch tall, slim metal strip portruding on all 4's closest to wheels wells) looks a little whimpy and unreliable.

What do you guys suggest?

Btw, the car will be on four jack stands, with all wheels removed.

Thanks

dang man, what you plannin on doing?

as for the jack points... i've left my car on 2 jackstands, but not 4, and i used the 2 spots closest to the wheel wells... they do look a lil whimpy, but it did the job

there are jack points underneath the car other than the ones along under the door. They are further in about a foot and a half at all corners.

I just had my car on all four jack stands (on all four jack positions) while i was painting my capliers. Worked just fine, but getting the jack stand in place was a chore...

The Helms manual points that out.

Is that safe? Are there only two tow hooks front and rear (sorry, can't really go outside and check)? I may try that or...

I may follow tmk70's reference.

The 7-ton jack is big, but I also have a 2 1/4 ton also if needed.

I am planning to get 7 ton floor jack too.. the 2/3 ton floor jack is too short for our SUV.
