J-Series Superchargers and More

Lots of interesting J-series stuff here. Everything from supercharger kits to fit a M90 to kits to put the J-series in a Miata, Mini, or Element.

Guessing you meant this - STORE

Interesting, but minus the blower. Be nice if it was an option to get in a kit.

There is a guy on YouTube under "Texas Honda Channel" that added a top mount supercharger to a Honda Pilot J-Series. Might be worth checking out.

There was a CL-S or two with top-mounted ones out through the hood here over the years too.

The funny thing is, looking at the picture below, with that kit is that it appears one would have to do without the power steering functionality?
Driving a CL without power steering is not fun.

Can confirm. Left the car at the airport parking for 3 days while out of town and came back to find the power steering pump had completely frozen in the -20º weather we had. Even after idling for over 30 minutes it was still frozen. Had to drive home strong-arming it. Getting out of the parking ramp was the biggest challenge. Once it sat in the garage overnight and thawed out, it was all fine to go again.

I remember thinking I was going to break something when I had to turn at a stop without PS. It's bearable once you get some speed, but it was really bad at a full stop.

The Prank parts supercharger plate sits uptop the upper intake manifold where the cover plate goes. Im guessing less visibility but u keep PS.

The one in the pic above bolts to the lowers but maybe would clear the hood?

I've gone without ps for a few days as well, but no AC wouldn't work in AZ half the year. lol... It was 114 today..

In that pic on the stand, the oem log exhaust manifold really seems inadequate next to the top mount s/c.

Building an M90 Comptech from scratch like this will kill three birds with one stone.

You will:
- Keep Power steering
- Keep A/C
- Not have a gaping hole in your hood

That S/C also has a oiling system

As Karanx7 mentions below, if one could easily incorporate that 3G TL 6-rib shaft drive pulley onto a 2G J32A2 / J35A3 pulley system, a fourth bird of M90 high boost 'belt slippage' could be killed as well.

There's no solution without getting a custom alternator pulley, or converting to a 3G TL style SCer. I'm just planning to go turbo at this point.
