It's been real fun......

I decided to trade in my 2001 CL Type S since it got a refurbished tranny. I bought a 2004 RL Navi black on black. 46500.00 minus 8,000.00 discount, less 13K for my CL and 8,000.00 dollar check therefore financing 20,000 at 4.9 % for a ROCK SOLID JAPAN BUILT CAR ! I just didn't feel safe in the CL and didn't like the way it performed on my way home this morning.
It's been great ! I'll check in from time to time !

Sorry to see ya go but i'm glad to see you kept it in family.

All the best with the new RL, that's a real nice choice.

Yes ... but at what cost...

Me too... AWD + goodies -- yeah, baby! But, I don't know what I would do if the tranny looked like it was going to pull a 5-to-2 downshift special. :shit:

Predictions: Fabvsix S-03 + RL reports.

The reason I bought the 04 is that it's ROCK SOLID and great price with 8000.00 discount. Second I don't want to be Acura's test bed ! I also didn't want to pay the 05 RL Hype price when it comes out.
I have pictures tomorrow !

ZAINO time ! .................................................. ....

The RL is a nice car, but I probably would have got a TL or even a TSX. Just a little more exciting to me.

My service guy told me the 04 TL's are rattle boxes. He said customers are complaining big time. He said it's a nightmare to rid the rattles. FAIR warning. The RL however, is 100 JAPAN MADE ! SOLID in other words....I'm zainoing it. I need someone to post my pictures later this evening.
Anyone up to help me ?

I took some Zaino shots, but can't figure out how to post on this board, as I have no problems posting attachments on my MDX board. Anyone want to host ? Or tell me how to do it ?
Thanks for the warm welcomes ! This has been a great place to hang out ! I don't think I will abandon you guys. This was the MOST informative place on the Internet. I joined it soon after it started 3 years ago or so.

I know some of the old timers are probably thinking.....Fab bought a 4 DOOR SEDAN ? ? ?

VTEC: I will not miss it ! The RL is like sitting in a space ship....XM satelite radio keeps me occupied !

I’ve heard that too.
That’s why I’d be more thrilled with a Japan Built RL Coupe instead of a TL Coupe to replace the CL.

I'm not leaving you guys ! I'm hooked on this place. But seriously, Shawn, go drive that 04 RL and look closely, it's quality built all the way around. I even noticed motor parts etc....were all marked..."Made in Japan"...

I'll check out the web site.

Thanks !

I know how you feel . . . I've felt the same way since I got mine back with the rebuilt tranny . . . just hasn't felt the same.

I hope Honda/Acura are listening to the music . . . We've lost that loving feeling . . .

I will, as soon as I see one with only 2-Doors.

WOW…… That looks EXACTLY like my old Legend under the hood.
Front-to-Back engine placement too.
Why oh why did they do away with the Coupe.

PS……. We could pass as brothers.

LMAF Shawn !

I'm amazed at the quality build. I just LOVE the Auto Tilt Steering feature, the sound system is great, why bother with CD's when you have XM radio ? ? ? ? Why they put a casset player boggels my mind. I also love the ash trays with lighters and REAL wood !

By the way:
Anyone wants my CL Type S, its at the Pleasanton Acura dealership. I had put recently S03's, comptech sway bars, front and rear. They put new pad on rear brakes, shaved them for the first time. Alignment/Balance/Rotate and 74K service. New Interstate battery a few months ago, New electronic odbc module to deploy airbags, all interior lights upgraded to blue PIAA bulbs, Tinted windows, recently floor matts replaced, new actuator replaced a year ago or so, replaced transmission at 74,000 miles, otherwise pure stock. Has navi and WELL TAKEN CARE OF. It would be a good one to have. I will miss her !

Zapata:
Thank you ! I just went to a local speed shop for PIAA bulbs. Should have seen their faces when I told them a 2004 Acura RL. I must have been there first customer with an RL putting PIAA bulbs in all the interior/lic plate/trunk lights/high beams/fog's............LOL....

Question for you Shawn:

Is the On star worth the goodies ? Is the phone reception clear with calling friends etc....Should I subscribe ? Let me know your thoughts on this feature. I have SO much reading to do, but Zainoing it yesterday was a GRIZZLY !

I’m the wrong guy to ask that question.
I went the entire FREE year without using it, and then never renewed the plan.
Sure it has some cool safety features if you even need them, but I don’t see paying 199 a year when I always have a cell phone with me.

They gave me 30 free cell minutes, but I never went through the trouble to set it up.
And I knew I wouldn’t be buying it for ANOTHER 20 dollars a month.
Why pay that when I already have thousands of minutes with Verizon.

Maybe start another thread asking for user experiences with OnStar.
