Internal transmission filter
Is there any way to change the internal transmission filter without removing the transmission? I changed the screw on external filter and Im still having an issue. Thanks.

Can't speak to the internal filter on the CL specifically but if you're still having problems, just replacing the filter isn't going to fix things.

Theres no way to change it with out removing the transmission and cracking open the case. If fluid change and external filter haven't helped you are basically out of luck. What issues are you having?

yea a filter will not fix ur problems. the metal shavings that are created bypass the filter anyways and thats basically what clogs the switches and ports which are creating ur trans problem.. that is if it's a simple issue.
if u have tq convert codes u are in for the ride. ive gone on the ride 2 times... the more u do it the more u get use to it... kinda fucked lol.
and i gotta ask. what did u mean when u said u changed the screw by external filter?? what is a screw going to do?
pull off the transmission screw that holds the trans fluid in. i will bet you my life there is a metal paste on it. that is proof that filters don't cut the cake, they bypass anything but a magnet. I have stopped doing 3x3 trans fluid cause i like waiting for the plug to gather up those particles. even with my trans having upgraded internals it still collects that friggin paste.
unfortunately there is usually no good news when it comes to our transmissions.
and what codes do u have.. or do u?

That's what it is on Acuraoemparts.com, idot know what else to all it it's part of the oil cooler filter assembly on the top below the intake. A couple places have it listed as a spin on filter.

What he meant was screw-on filter meaning you screw it on( take it screw it Onto the oil cooler assembly). he's not talking about a screw hes talking about the filter that you screw on. I'm not sure how else to explain it, I just did mine during my transmission swap so that's probably why I know what he's talking about

changing internal filter
I know it's a tough job and likely not gonna fix any exiting issues.. but a filter is a filter soooo , being stubborn and believing in clean filters..is there a place to find a replacement internal filter for the 2000 acura tl ? and anyplace to find a detailed description of how to do it? I have torn into more than one Chevrolet tranny and am pretty decently mechanically inclined ..i would like to know for future reference as I am not new to doing something most would say not to do lolol . Would I end up regretting it- maybe- and that wouldn't be a new thing either .
