Interior LEDs

I know its kinda been talked about, but I was considering converting my interior lights to LEDs and was wondering if this is gonna make my car look "riced" out. Functionally I like the idea of brighter lights, but it's not like I can't see anything with the current bulbs. I've seen some of the posted pics, but pictures don't properly show the intensity of the lights. What do you guys think? Thanks for your input!

Interior LEDs can swing either way IMO. If they are done tastfully they can look real nice. Though, if you're adding some of those Autozone LEDs that plug into the cig. lighter and stuck onto the dash, that would be something I would not like to look at.

I have my dome, courtesy lights, map lights, trunk light, and license plate light all done super white leds and they look amazing, when I unlock my car with the fob it is awesome to look at, and all the time people think its just part of the luxury of the car and they love it. Just don't do them like all orange or Purple and you will be fine, blue probably looks really good to.

I think it would put a sort of "ricey" touch on the vehicle.

depends on what color lights. if they're all matching or some color scheme. it also should keep functionality.

like the dome light should remain white, and not red/blue.

LED's are NOT "ricey" IMO. I think they are just another cheap quick way to spice up the interior a little bit. Definitely wouldn't consider them "ricey" though. . .

not ricey at all. again unless its some cheap lights or colored lights. stay with white or even possibly blue, but not a deep blue, the ones that sorta match the hids

another led thread?

i say no to the rice if they're white
other colors could be used as little accents but if your entire car is outfitted with blue or red led's you're for sure

I kinda think so...then again, the stuff I've seen were poorly done. However, if you do it nicely, you can always counter that opinion.

why do some of you guys want to make your license plate more visible with the brighter lights?

I just did the interior, but I'm with you, I have no clue why they'd want to do that...more visible to the coppers

For me it was just for some continuity... The LED in back matches the HIDs in the front, so it gives the car a nice look. IMO, bringing attention to the plate is not gonna get the cops to pull me over. The sound of a WOT with headers and intake is more than likely what gets me that ticket!

I agree with tnobori that it would be more for continuity. I don't see how a brighter white or yellow license plate light would draw unwanted attention.

LED Bulb Replacement

Does anyone know the bulbs I would need to replace the gauge bulbs, Dome Light, Map Light and Vanity Light? I'm on SuperbrightLED.com but I don't know what bulbs to get without busting my dash all apart and pulling the bulbs out.

make sure you replace the bulbs with white lights. my friend replaced all the interior lights to blue LEDs to his 5series and it looks alright, but the light function is prettymuch useless. if you really needed to look for something at night with thsoe lights, you can barely find anything. hahah so.... white > blue lights.
