nothing wrong with AEM... for headers/exhaust/springs I would use nothing but comptech, but for the intake AEM is fine, maybe better if you want a little louder sound.

Hey mattg, who gives a shit how long I've had the Icebox or how long you've had the Aem.
I've had both in my CL and the Icebox delivers more power on the dyno and sounds better.
Comptech only designs parts for Honda's, as they are tuned and manufactured specifically for our cars.
Don't compare that Aem crap to Comptech because there is no comparison!

The icebox is the way to go!
I'm not a big comptech fan becuase of the price gouging but their stuff is quality.
Also, who want to keep taking off the bumper/fender every time they run over a puddle and get their filter wet?

you sound like someone who has no idea what they are talking about.

i live in Portland, Oregon. it rains like a mother fucker here and i've never had to service my filter because it got wet. and you don't have to take off the bumper or the fender to get to it anyway.

You act like you know everything about cars. Sometimes you should step back and asses how much of a faggot you are.
The oiled filter can repel minor water splashes but a good soaking and pretty mush you need to remove the filter, clean, dry and reoil it. I had a AEM CAI on my old accord and it was a pain in the ass.

Freudian slip or experience? Perhaps you should reASSESS your post...

I think the sound of the Comptech is so innocuous that it's boring. I happen to like my Injen just fine...

You keep on Ricin' my friend!
My mods are purchased based on quality and performance, that's why I purchase Comptech.

i cannot understand what is wrong with you people. why the fuck are you talking shit to other cl owners? the cai is just fine, the sound is great. maybe the icebox is superior. so what?

sonor kid, you should be able to run a 14 flat w/ the mods you have. lets see it. that would impress me and make me want an icebox.

tool, the true definition of rice is how much money you have spent on your accord, that doesn't break 13's.

report back when you've run a quicker e.t. than me.

mattg, i wasn't trying to talk shit to you. i could have a relaxed discussion and to be honest with you, i think its all about prefrence. according to the dyno chart, the gain was only about 2.1whp(don't know exactly). the icebox is better performance wise, but how much better? if an aem hum is what you like, get it. but for "a refined deep rumble" and a little extra boost, the icebox is your pick.

Its a fukin Accord , asshole, I knocked 2 seconds off of my ET , what have you knocked off yours.

A little offended by the ricer comment huh?

BTW I run the same times every time I go to the track, I dont just claim the 1 freak run that was made in the middle of winter and claim that my car is what its not!!

Wow I cannot believe how simple minded some (who shall remain nameless) are. It's a matter of personal preference and thats it. Those 2 extra horsies arent gonna mean dick when it comes right down to it. Personally I love the throaty sound (not Integra/Civic intake whine) that my AEM gives me. Some people would rather the extra 2 hp and the more stock look/sound thats fine. But why is everyone getting so defensive.

I was flat out insulted for voicing my opinion but you dont see me getting all bitchy and taking shots at people, because when it comes down to it I know that I was the more mature person and the person that threw the insult in the first place was just some teenage punk that thinks he's the shit from behind his monitor and keyboard (I guess I managed to get that in there anyway )

Tool's dyno is a consistent 260hp and 236tq, I dodn't care what his 1/4 mile time is. He gets a lot of wheel spin off thew line and with his new drag slicks, he'll brake 14 easily. Does your CL dyno with these numbers, I think not.
If you like your AEM, that's cool. Tool's Accord will eat your CL like a scoobie snack!

Damn... why so much hate for the CAI's?? Like mattg said, most of us who have had CAI since the beginning, before ICEBox. No body is trying to argue which on is better, it's just matter of taste and opinion. Why is one rice over the other?? If you already have spend $200 on CAI, would you spend another $300+ for another 1 or 2hp?? No thanks for me.

dets, I've read that thread also and any 1-2 hp differece between runs could happen even if no changes made to what mods on the car. So it tells me both do about the same in performance.

You guys are way too serious and defensive, we are just having some fun here.
You can stroke AEM all you want, I don't care.

But why is everyone getting so defensive.

Wise@$$ responses and humor are always fun. Bustin' balls is fun...But this thread is just out of control...
Saying AEM=rice is just stupid.
a/m exhaust=rice as well with that freakin' logic...

You guys have to at least make a little sense first if you are going to be high and mighty ABOUT A FU(KING INTAKE for god's sake...

:shakehd: The performance gains are little in difference between each.....at this point it comes down to sound....it's not rice.

So you are saying a Supercharged Accord and beat a CLS, then thanks for this amazing insight...

Now if S/C CLS vs. S/C Accord.. that would be a cool video to see... tool, you have a sweet setup for your accord, I'm not hating.. I have a CT blower also.

:flamer:

I suppose rednecks who buy flowmasters instead of borla are ricers, too? I suppose you with your Comptechs instead of HKS makes you a better person icuz you got it for some "other" reason than the way it sounded...
