Intake & Exhaust

I have a 01 CL-S and was thinking of installing a cold air intake & changing the exhaust. I was wondering if anyone would know how much horse power this would add to the current 260 & if anyone had any ideas on what manufactures to go with? I am kinda new to making such modifications.

Thanks

Im in the same boat as you. The CAI will give you about 5-10 HP and the exhaust im not sure on. I was told it;s minimal (i could be wrong), the exhaust is there for the noise . Im going to order the AEM CAI (aempower.com) as soon as my bank creidits me the $215 Xephyr performance stole from me(do not order from them). AS for the exhaust, I will have to contact my leasing dealer and ask them if i can do that kind of upgrade to my car . Hope this helps.

Typically CAI systems can depending on climatic conditions add anywhere from 10 to 20 horsepower.Comptech claims a 5 horsepower increase for their exhaust. The low power increase on th e exhaust is due to the fact that Acura already has a very efficient system on their cars. You should be able to put on the exhaust regardless of your leadse companies outlook on such mods.Simply have the installer give you the OEM exhaust. When the time comes to return the car reinstall the original parts and E-bay the good stuff to recoup some of your investment. This way the lease company is no wiser to your activities.Jens
