Insurance Question

The other day I checked out my car before getting a car wash. Everything was fine. Then I park my car and go to work. After work, I hop in the car and head home. I park the car in the garage. Later that day, I notice that I have a big dent in the back. I'm pretty sure someone hit my car in the parking lot where I work and just left. Question is will insurance pay for the hit-and-run? Do I have to file a police report? Is it possible to file a report now, even though some time has passed.

Its a self claim, means you get it fixed (paid) - your deductable.

Goray, I replied to this when it was in ramblings. Basically, if the dedcutib;e costs more than the actual repair, pay for it yourself.

I'm sure the deductible is higher than the damage which means money out of your pocket and an increase in insurance premiums. Not worth it.

You may want to consider trying one of the paintless dent removal places. I knew a guy in that business and it's amazing what they can take out, but it somewhat depends on where the dent is. The cost is much less than traditional body work as well.

hope this helps -

it won't raise your rates unless its over $950.00 - plus some body shops charge more when you pay vs what they charge ins companys
actually 950.00 is my company but my adjuster told me all the ins companies are either at or around that
