Insurance in FL

Question for people who live in FL how much is your comprehensive and collision coverages on your CL-Ss. I just called progressive told them that I am moving to FL and asked for a quote, after hearing that # I think I want to stay in NY

The problem in S. Florida is that only half the people driving actually have car insurance. The half that has insurance ends up subsidizing for those that don't. A few of the major companies have stopped writing policies there.

I have insurance with Progressive and I pay approximately $1,600 per year. That includes 500,000 bodily injury and uninsured motorist coverage, 100,000 in property damage and also comp and collision. That's more coverage than most have, but people are sue happy in Florida so I feel better with a lot of coverage. I'm 32 with an average driving record. If your driving record is less than stellar, Progressive and Geico usually have the best rates. If your driving record is clean, State Farm and Allstate usually have the best rates. Once you turn 25, your insurance rates will likely drop by about 40%.

I bet I have the highest insurance. 8000$ a year. That's for Comp/Collision and Liability, with 1000$ deductibles. I'm 23. But I had my license suspended for non-payment of surchages and got caught driving. Oh well, this is the last year at this rate.

yeah, the only advantage is once I pay this off, I'll have 800$ extra a month for mods. Or maybe to bank for a down payment on a new one.
