I have GEICO, too and I pay about that for 12 months. But I'm well into my 30s, been with them since the mid-80s, and I haven't totalled a couple of cars. Oh, and I live in Kansas in a county that's similar to yours. So yes, that's sounds about right for you.

Edit: I forgot to add that there's a couple of ways to get a discount and they offer a 100,000 miles extended warranty (equivalent to $1,000 OEM warranty) for less than $50/year cost to you.

What are you currently driving and what quotes have you gotten on other 2002 sport vehicles ???

I’m pretty sure it’s just your history and not the car that are doing it.

I pay about 1,200 a year for my CL and the wife’s Integra.
That’s for BOTH drivers.

i currently have a 97 chevy blazer and im paying just under 900 bucks for 6 months...my previous car was the camaro (96) that i totalled...i also have taken that defensive driving class within the last year...and i like to carry 1000 dollar deductables...and its still friggin 1280 for 6 months on the CL-S....i got a quote for a 2002 pontiac GTP for 1100 from geico and that car is friggin SUPERCHARGED! and the cl-s is more expensive? probably just because its a "luxury" car...

My 98 Accord EX was $1,200. Then I switched to the 01 CL-S with same $500 deduct and it is now $1,650.

2 accidents (not my fault), 45 y/o...

acura_service : forget the mille and get a HOG ($280 full with a $200 deduct)... LOL

I was looking at pictures of a Hayabusa. Man! Is that tempting. Will wait before I add to my 'stable'

Farmers sucks. They wouldn't touch me when I started driving even though my parents had been with them for years. So they switched to Auto Club and got a three driver, three car policy and I just paid my part.

I switched from Geico (who was hundreds less than the other quotes I got) to American Express through Costco and saved over 400$/year with better coverage!!!!

I was so shocked at how low the Costco rate was that I even asked the guy to double check and make sure that it was for a Type S etc. so nothing weird popped up down the road.

I went from paying almost 1300$/year with Geico to about 800$/year with Costco which includes a lower deductible by 500$ as well as rental insurance and better premiums for the other catergories. And, this included a number of discounts from Geico for being a credit union member etc. that knocked about 150$/year off of my premium.

I highly recommend you guys check this out. Plus, they have been very friendly and helpful during all of my dealings.

I'm 28 with 1 point and no accidents on my record.

Oh yeah, and I even told them about all of my upgrades and it didn't change my rates at all. Nice.

Plus, I also switched my homeowners through them and saved nearly 100$/year over Geico.

I am 34 , no accident , no tickets on my US lics...

I am paying $1250/year for just the basic coverage: 25/50 and $500 deductible.

I think should be pay less or at least get the coverage to 50/100k and $250 deductible. Also, windshield is not covered....

Should I check costco? Who is the insurance carrier and anybody had a claim with them?

Wow, u must be well off. 3600 a year is pretty much as close to anal rape as u can get. I'm 21 and on my own, that's why it's so fookin expensive. Had I been under my parent, it'd be a helluva lot cheaper. I guess i shouldn't feel as bad?

$1,000 a month, don't believe it... When I was 18,I hydroplaned my Brand New '98 Eagle Talon up under a jeep, got it back 3 months later and I flipped it. 13,000 damage to my car in the 1st wreck, 2nd totaled it. and even then if I would have gotten another New Talon it would have been $560 a month. So I'm sorry I don't believe $1,000, unless you just crashed a New Lexus 430 or something like that.

Wow.. you're from Peekskill!! That's awesome.. I'm about 5 min. from you, one town over in Cortlandt Manor, off of Westbrook!!

Anyway, my father's been cool and lets me list the car under him to save money, so I'm paying about $850 a year. I did look into putting it under my name, but since I haven't had my own insurance for almost 7 years, it was expensive... about $2200 a year. I'm 25 with a clean license.

Man this topic has come up a lot but I still can't believe how bad people are getting raped on their insurance. I was 23 when I got my CL-Type S (24 now) and I live in Norther NEW JERSEY the auto insurance rape capital of the country and I only pay 1250 a YEAR to totally insure my CL. I have Allstate and they have been nothing but cheap for me. Even when I owned my 1997 30th anniversary camaro it was only 1300 a year. Thought I was lucky but from what I see on this board I am really really lucky. Maybe you guys should look for new insurers.!!!

Get married!!! :)

I'm 24 (25 next month), my wife is 23 and we pay $1200/yr with 100/300/100 coverage and a $500 deductable - for two cars ('02 CL-S and '01 Alero GLS)... We both have clean driving records... We have Progressive.

I asked them what it'd be if I wasn't married and I'd pay about $1000/yr for the CL-S... Some of you guys are taking it in the rear w/o any lube to help out the pain!!!
