Insurance...

Does $2,100 a year sound much for a 16 year old "driver" of a 01' CLS Auto under my dads insurance? Well, it did to us at first, I thought it was really high. We asked our insurance about it, they told us because its a V6, that its a 2-door, that its expensive to fix if needed, and that its a sports car. Recently my dad got my sister a college car, a 2003 Hyundai Elantra. So he wanted me to switch me to being the "driver" of the Hyundai, even though Id still drive my Acura. The insurance tells us the yearly rate for me as the driver of the Hyundai is $2,600. I just thought thats screwed up because its a 4-door, 4-cylinder, and not any more expensive to fix than an Acura, and its not a sports car, contradicting themselves. What do you guys think, is it too expensive, is it just right and what are you guys paying?

$600 holy crap that's cheap. if your dad is listed as the primary driver that is the reason why it's low. shit i'm 24 and it's $2000/yr for full coverage.
