Installing Thermoblok (TB is stuck) HELP

Hey guys, I'm trying to remove my throttle body to install my Thermoblok spacers but the damn thing is stuck. I removed the two bolts and two nuts and disconnected everything as the instructions stated, but that thing is stuck on there. I tried shaking it till the wheels fell off and even tried hitting it at an angle with a screw driver and wrench but it seems to be stuck on harder than that. I live in Hawaii so you could only imagine the corosion. I thought about using a hammer and flat head screw driver but didn't want to damage the throttle body. I also thought of tapping a small flat head in between the TB and manifold but didn't want to create any scrapes or cracks in between the two which may cause leaks?

ANY IDEAS???

Place a rag or two on the TB if you use a harder-material hammer... you don't want to
dent it or crack it... it is cast aluminum!

mine was a total beeatch. I even backed out one of the old studs w/a vicegrip. Still I was hitting it hard enough to get scared, so I took off the entire intake/TB together. TB was easier to get off with the manifold off the block -- guess I had a better angle at hitting it.

Just keep hitting it with a soft mallet... it will come off.

You can also insert a razor blade between to cut the gasket so it has a start for a separation point.

Helps isolate the upper intake to reduce heat transfer from the block. Here's a link to MrSteves writeup:

Alright, got it. Mallot didn't work, was about to try the hammer but just used a putty knife and tapped it in there. Worked like a charm. There was tons of black guck in the intake manifold and the interior side of the TB (from NOS backfire?). Lots of black buildup on the butterfly and had to scrape it off using my fingernail and a lot of finger grease. Gonna put it all back together soon, but got lots more cleaning to do.
