Installing a Front Strut Bar

Hey All,

When installing the FSB, how much tight should you screw on the bolts, ftlbs? Was thinking of having someone install it, but might as well buy a torque wrench and do it myself

I just tightened mine until it was good and tight. Definitely don't have someone install it, takes about 15-30 min.

12 ft/lbs on the two small bolts that hold down the stock strut bar.
37 ft/lbs on the three larger bolts.

Ok, are you sure you are talking about the STB? There are two bolts that hold the STB and then the other three hold the shock, I think? You shouldn't be doing anything underneath anything, it's all on top in plain sight.

Let's clarify, are we talking about an Upper or Lower strut bar? I was referring to an Upper.

Below is a cheesy diagram of what is there

about a 1/4 of the way from each side going inward are two bars (welded) that go straight back towards the car that are attached to the top underneath.
