Installed Comptech Quiet Tip Inserts

Thanks to Sidemarker for the instructions. Only took me 10 minutes to do(it's nice having good tools) Night & day difference. All the sound from the Comptech Exhaust is gone now. No droning, no deep tone, sounds like stock, or maybe even a little more quiet then that to me. I don't like them. I wasn't expecting all the sound to die just lesson it a little. I don't even get the deep tone when I start it up anymore. Sounds like stock from outside also. Glad they are removable. I painted mine black. Should have painted the screw too. Now it sticks out.

The exhaust sounds bad ass. Get rid of those inserts ASAP.

Nice, I also have a brand new set, and I've not had the chance to install them yet. This will help when I take my car for long road trips. Good stuff.

Not really. Like I said they killed all the sound. Supposed to cut it to 50% of stock but it does way more then that on my car. I'm getting the B-pipe in a few weeks, so I will keep them on till I get that in. Then maybe it will sound better.

Have to add this is on MY car. Maybe my car sounds different then others.

Hey Jason,

Sorry to hear you don't like them. I didn't think they would kill all of the sound either. Would you say your stock exhaust has more of a growl than the CT's with the quiet tips?

Wait and see if the B-Pipe makes a difference.

I guess it's true what they say...

Wrong!!!

Droning: For those who were complaining about the CT exhaust drone, they will have even more to complain about. As I mentioned in my earlier review , droning with the CT b-pipe is worse. The RPM range and magnitude of the droning has increased - see my previous review for estimates. Also, I'll probably install the quiet tips.

Where are you guys having your CT exhausts installed? Acura dealers, friends, or muffler shops like midas, or what? I have been wanting to get them. I notice that that the CT website seems to be the highest price for them also, any recommendations on where else to look? thanks.

There are only 4 bolts (2 per muffler) to remove the mufflers. All you need to do the install are:

(1) Jack & (2) Jackstands
#14 socket wrench
WD-40
30 minutes of labor time
6 pack (your favorite beer)

Try here for a better price

So there's nothing between CT/HKS with a drone at cruise, and CT w/quiet tips/stock sound???? Someone must make an exhaust or muffler that sounds more like the G35c/350Z. Super mellow sound. No boomy ricey sounds for a car like this....Jeez.
