Installed Comptech Headers--Review

Well I finally got my Comptech headers put on about two days ago. I bought them used from a member on here for 600 bucks. I had the local Pohanka Acura Dealer do the install. At the time I bought the headers, I did not have any of the gaskets, bolts, washers etc that comptech usually includes. The acura dealer looks like they had everything they needed and did the install.

Let me say one thing. Any members that do not have aftermarket headers needs them!! After driving the car around for two days the gains on top end FRIGGEN AMAZING. It feels like midrange improved just taaad but when vtec kicks in its a whole new ball game. The engine and exhaust sounds better, it almost sounds like a 350Z just 1/3 loud as one.

Overall, very impressed and 600 bucks for a used set was def worth it. Next performance mod...Comptech Icebox.

By the second week of April I should have installed Comptech Icebox, Tanabe Lowering Springs, Tokico Blue Shocks. After the springs and shocks are installed, I might consider buying some used Comptech sway bars. I just wanna see how the ride is with the springs and shocks before I buy the sways which I heard will stiffen the ride even more.

To be honest with you I love my comptech sways.. The stiff ride helps the car prevent from feeling like a boat...

oh headers, I remember when I had them, the gain was nuts. I was able to spin at the top of first gear. Freaking awsome! of the 2 original mods I have, the sways are one of them.

On a scale of 1-10 of ride comfort (1 being the harshest kidding busting ride and 10 being stock suspension.) How would you guys rate the sways after install? Also the rating you provide, is that with modified suspension (shocks and springs) or stock suspension.

Ok, I'll chime in on this one. I have stock suspension w/ the CT sways. After installing them, I would say that ride comfort has changed quite a bit. I would say they would be on a 7 for driving in the streets, but a 3 or 4 on the highway. Driving on the 405, I really feel the road alot, including the bumps and shit. At time it gets quite annoying, but it's only for those few times. But the increase in handling is WAY worth it. The response in steering is much greater, including the fact that I can take turns much quicker without having to break the tires loose. I really feel more connected to the road, and less like a boat with them. If you can get a good deal on em, GET EM!

Btw, the CT headers are awesome. I remember the 2nd or 3rd day after getting them. I couldn't believe the power increase just from headers. Good luck modding!

Interesting thread. Seems isolated since that is def the first I have heard of that. I may consider Eibach. I guess if the Comptech Sways are black coated then they are the newer ones. The older sways would be the silver ones just like their springs?
