Installed Comptech Headers & Exhaust today!!!! :)
Installed Comptech Headers & Exhaust today!!!! :)
I just got my comptech stuff intalled today, and boy do they make a world of difference! For anyone who was curious as to if the Comptech exhaust is worth the money, they answer is YES! It sounds sooo good, and sooo clean! People look, and it chirps alarms. I can definately tell the difference in performance! I love them already, and I havent even had them for 3 hours. I cost me $250 to install both of them at Santa Monica Acura, not a bad deal at all! I got the install for less than the employees get, because I know everyone at the dealer and they hooked me up! I also got my first service of 7500 miles. I hope I see a difference in gas mileage because I was filling up twice a week before! I've heard it is because of the break in oil and all, but I dont know. What do you guys think of all that? Thanx for listening.

I had one guy mistake the intake roar for an air-horn (the guy had an Acura Integra R painted a pale green "barf" color and looked a bit "unstable").
So, now with the exhaust, etc -- it's got to be loud from 5k to 7k rpms (yes/no)?
Keep an encounter log book (j/k)...

Pele77: congrats!
EricL: It's funny...I really only notice the pleasant, low burble of the Comptech exhaust at low RPM (< 3000). As revs get higher, it is less noticeable. In the VTEC RPM range, when the CAI starts screaming its tune, the exhaust noise from the rear is imperceptible to me over the CAI screaming in my face.
It wasn't until our last Sacramento meet when Brylee and his black CL-S with the Comptech exhaust drove away at a decent clip from where the rest of us were standing that I could really hear the exhaust as his car's engine wound out through the upper RPMs.

Hey I have headers too but I think the performance gain your feeling is more from the headers and not from the exhaust. remeber the exhaust just gives 2~3hp. I do like the exhaust and how it sounds but just don't want it. its more for show than go.

I know that the majority of the performance gain is from the headers, but I was just stating the fact that the exhaust is definately worth the investment IMO...just for the sound. I love them!

The difference between highway driving mileage and city driving mileage in the CL is so incredibly noticeable. I've never had a car that gets such a difference in mileage between the two. On my las ttank of gas I drove the first 1/4 on the highway and then the rest on normal roads. I now have over 350 miles on this tank and still have a bit under a 1/4 tank to go. I swear you could get close to 500 miles on a full tank all highway driving.
As for the S4 post--chill out people, it's getting kinda gay in here with all the "best friend" and "dudester stuff". :p

How about 30 MPG on the highway and a low of 13 MPH in town.
And as far as "gay" -- I'll take that any day over a testosterone induced Taliban holy war...
