Installed 6 Denso Iridium IK20s in 45 min!

I installed, gapped the plugs carefully, in my 2K2 CL-S in 45 minutes! It wasn't that hard. The hardest one I found was the back left if you are looking at the engine. But that was actually easier than doing a FBODY. heheheh. Anyways, the car seemed to start up a bit smoother when I first noticed, haven't driven it since I also washed the car and detailed it in under 2 hrs total with plugs. I will drive it tomorrow and let you know my impressions!

How did you use your plugs to detail it in less that 2 hours.

Don't they scratch the car??

FYI

installing spark plugs is no easy task

it took me 2 hours to properly install denso plugs in my v6 accord

remember

u need some anti-seize its a compound you put on the threads of the spark plug to keep the threads locked up in that position. so next time it will be much easier to remove!!!!

must torque the plugs to spec ( hardest part) over torquing could break the tips of the plugs under torque can cause misfiring and some bad noises

SO DONT FORGET TO APPLY ANTI-SEIZE AND TORQUE THE PLUGS TO SPEC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used Anti-Seize on the plugs (grey stuff). Worked great. Had all the right tools, didn't even remove the STB. 45 minutes anyone can do it with good car knowledge. I have worked on many cars, and this wasn't to bad actually. I didn't have a small enough torque wrench, but I finger tightended it like i have all my cars, which is usually perfect.

Drove the car today, car seems to drive much better, better throttle response. Gas milege we will see....

I've pulled 28, 30, and 29.8 mpg with my last three fill-ups. I wasn't even driving like grandma. Stock plugs. Beat those. :P

Edit - just went out and filled up and got 28mpg (310miles, 11gallons).

Wintertime is more like 24-26mpg though. Shitty winter gas.

has ANYONE here had any problems by not using anti-seize?

I've been replacing plugs for years now in several different cars and ive NEVER had one time where the plugs seized up.

BTW, i can replace plugs in an Accord V6 in about 20 minutes now. And that is taking my time.

and one other thing, i plan on having another Denso Iridium Groupbuy in about a month, possibly sooner. If you are interested, expect 60-62 dollars for a set of 6 which also includes free priority shipping.

Well, I can say that I saw a accord v6, and the engine compartment doesn't compare to a CL-S or TL-S.

umm, ive also see cl-s and tl-s engine compartments and i'd say spark plug location and clearance are very similar between the two cars.

Sorry but the Accord does not have a STB in the way, and other things like cruise control, ac hoses, etc. The Accord has more room than the CL-S or TL-S does.

Latest fill-up: 30.4 mpg and that included a good 20 minute session parked with the AC on.

196.5 miles /6.45 gallons = 30.465 mpg

No idea. It's definitely not stop-and-go traffic, but I'm driving the same roads I was getting 24-26mpg on just two months ago. It must just be good gas?
I don't granny drive either, at least not most of the time.
Oh and I have to give my air filter a spring cleaning... it hasn't been cleaned since November-ish. Comptech hi-flow filter. I also don't have that stupid resonator on. But those mods were done right after I got the car so it's not like that changed.

It's only been the past two weeks or so that I've really noticed the gas guage not dropping as quickly and my mileage being better. Summer gas, I guess. I mostly fill up at Texaco with whatever their best is - 92 or 93 octane? Sometimes at a Chevron that's on another route I take on weekends.
