Info on the De-Tuning of the AT CL-S
I've been looking into this subject for quite some time now and i'd like to hear from other owners who have had the full auto transmission fix done by Acura. Apparently the new model transmissions that have been replaced include a new ECU/PCM, different fuel pump, and a different fuel pressure regulator.
From what i've read they are de-tuning our cars to compensate for the reliability issues with the transmission. They are making our cars less aggressive and slower so the tranny doesn't fail. Excuse me for saying this but I believe this is complete bullshit. I had my transmission replaced before I owned the car and being the performance junky I am I want my old ecu and fuel parts back but I know this is going to be a very hard task getting this done by the dealer. I want to threaten to contact news groups about how they are making the car slower to cover up the transmission flaws.
Your thoughts please.

Uses turn signals in my
First time (late 05) they didn't change the PCM or anything. Last time (Summer 07), they changed the PCM and not the fuel pump. I asked my service manager several times and he says they don't detune the car with this pcm change, he says with certain cars they do change the fuel pump which does reduce horsepower, but thats not what they were going to do with mine. .
Mine still hauls ass. The 1-2, 2-3 shift is quicker and a little more rough, but other than that it still shifts at 7,000k and hauls ass when it needs to.
If they would have detuned my car, I would have been extremely pissed. I put all this money into the car for power all to get it detuned? Hell no. I mean there is a reason why most of us bought a type s in the first place.

According to the previous owner he said the transmission on my car was replaced by his buddy whos works at the Acura dealership, but according to them they have no record of the tranny change... so I don't know if I have any of the fuel system changes.... this is really irritating, not sure how to proceed.

With 5 failures, 2 new pcms with the "updated trans" i can for one tell you that my car wasnt any slower. It was faster. Shifts were quicker (to produce less slippage which = heat). Sometimes it didnt like to go all the way to redline before shifting sime times it did. That was the only thing i ever noticed
