I sat in the back seat of the fx35 and that thing felt pretty peppy. Similar to the cl-s stock. I can't imagine how the fx45 feels. the interior looked nice and the steering column tilts and telescopes with the gauges. I would look at the car if i was in a position to buy. it is kinda pricey and small compared to other utes.

You can get great deals on them now....

Dealers are overstocked with them, the local Infiniti dealer must have 25 or so on the ground. The rumor going around was that Infiniti was going to cut back production so dealers can clear out some of their inventory.

On the road, I primarily see FX35s with the 18s.......let alone FX45s.

Everyone bitches about the ride on the '45 being way too rough for everyday driving. I can't understand why anyone would buy a crossover with so little interior/storage room that gets such sucky gas mileage. If you need a lot of space, get a real SUV. If you need more space than a car, get a sportwagon (which hold as much or more than a crossover).

I sat in a loaded FX45 when i was looking at the G35c before i bought the CL. The interior was really nice and the seats felt pretty comfortable. Someone in my town has a FX35 with the 20" wheels on it. Looks good but i'd imagine those have to slow that sucker down and make the ride pretty harsh.

Here's some pics:

This was the exact car they had in the showroom. Not a fan of the color at all.

I looked very seriously at one to be a sporty family hauler but there are a few reasons I didn't get one:

1. rear cargo room is not much bigger than the TLS if you don't want to block your visibility
2. fuel economy
3. styling is sweet but in reality I don't need an off-road vehicle or something to tow with so the oversized wheels and extra ground clearance would be no more than a cosmetic burden for me
4. Even empty the rear visibility is somewhat compromised due to the small window. I guess I've been spoiled by Acura in this regard.

A friend of mine is an Infiniti dealer in San Diego. He has a black on black FX45 with chrome 20's on it. These are just the stock wheels chromed. I must admit, I don't care for the exterior and I think in a year ot 2, although it looks futuristic now, I think it will look dated. But, and a huge but, DRIVE ONE! Holy shiznits! It drives like a Porsche. AWD and a big V8 and this thing hauls butt and corners like crazy. Inside is a whole different feeling than outside.

I think its a pretty neat vehicle and I like the Infinity (looks) much more than I do the Nissan version. But I have to admit that my very first impression of the FX was that it looked like one of the ships or vehicles from the movie Dune (the emporer or something rode around in the big metal thing that hovered). Anyhow, the fit and finish seems to be very good and I'd pay the price if I was in the market for another car.

Speaking of Porshe (someone make reference to this car driving or sounding like one), I was shocked to learn that Porshe does not have maintenance included with any of its cars. When you look at other manufacturers in that niche (Mercedes, Jaguar, etc) they include maintenance. $66+,000 dollars and no maintenance makes the Cayenne a VERY pricey (6cyl) SUV.

I haven't driven one of them myself, but from speaking with a couple of friends that have, the FX35 is a much better deal than the FX45. You get a smoother ride, handling is pretty much the same, better gas mileage, and you save some major $$$. Both said that you would not know which is the V8 or the V6 until you get above 4,000 rpms. Before that, you could flip a coin. As with everything else, it depends on what your priorities are, but, I think that Infiniti has just handily beat the MB, Porsche, and BMWs right now. One of the test drivers has a MB, the other a BMW and both said that the Infinity drives much more like a car than either of theirs does. Add to that the cost savings, and you have a pretty good competitor.
What I would be interested in seeing is whether they will offer the Navi system seperate from the "Technology" package to close the price gap (who wants to pay $9K for a bunch of stuff you don't want). That would probably put a lot more people into those vehicles...

The FX45 is sweet.

I've seen a few driving around MA and I like it more and more everytime I see it. The only thing I would change, and my only complaint really about the exterior, is that stupid fugly-placed antenna that just sits in the middle of the roof up front. If Acura can integrate our antennas into the rear window, then I think Infiniti do the same for a vehicle that costs as much as an FX45.

thanks for all the replies and the pics.

personally, i am interested in the FX35 with premium package..no te 20's. Reason being..the ride is relaly harsh with 20's and the cost factor.Only problem is..i cant find a pic with 18's..all pics i see re with te 20's.....
For 39k...FX35 AWD with premium package..you cant beat it in my opinion....
great looks, powerful V6 (280/270) luxurious interior....and lets face it...a little more room than the CL-S i am driving now...no doubt.
Now..all ihave to do is wait for my lease to be done.

If I could afford one, I would be driving it now instead of the Murano.

So, !
