Improving gear ratios...

Is it possible to switch to gears with better ratios for acceleration on our current autos? I've heard of people swapping out gears before, but don't know if it's a good idea for our trannies. I don't know crap about this stuff, but everyone complains about Acura's conservative ratios so I was wondering if this was possible. A lot of work would be involved though, right? I'm guessing the ECU, or whatever, would need to be reprogrammed or changed to work properly with the different setup.

Maybe we can swap it with a CVT tranny from a Civic!

If we're going to do the whole tranny we might as well go with the new SMG. I hope my next car will be an M3 with one of those, or maybe even an M5.

There was a person who visited the forum, who owned an IS300, and he mentioned you can swap the fourth gear on our tranny with a MDX 4th gear for a closer gear.
