I installed my AEM CAI yesterday. Well, one of my Supra buddies helped me, but it only took 40 - 45 minutes. Of course, I printed the lovely instructions (can't remember who did them, but they were very helpful...one thing, though...perhaps a reminder that if battery is disconnected, make sure radio code is nearby...I had an hour ride without a radio...kinda sucked, but I just listened to the AEM).

I am very, very , very pleased with the result. I don't have a stock dyno, but my seat-of-the-pants dyno says there's a noticeable increase in power. My Supra buddy has driven my car before, and he drove it after the install and he thought it was more powerful, too. And, he really liked the sound. Who knows if it's 3, 5, 8, or 9 whp, but it is more powerful.

Now, to the sound. I absolutely LOOOOVVVVE it!! It screams like a motherf*cker in VTEC. I wanted the sound, and I have it now!!

I can't wait to get the headers installed tomorrow afternoon. Nashua or I will post the before-and-after dynos tomorrow or Tuesday.

I've been real obnoxious-like with the intake, and it's only gonna get worse with the headers.

 

I love my AEM CAI also. The sound in VTEC is intoxicating.

 

Yep...no sound of an icebox could surpass its roar!

 

It makes it sound like a different car above 5000 rpms!!!

injen is even louder. Funny thing is that with cai you are supposed to get better gas mileage but my led foot negates that.

 

Hahaha. Silver w/o Bypass. This tranny is bulletproof, right??!!?? According to Acura it is.

 

That's what I've heard, but I can't imagine I'll be able to lay off it now.

 

Car sounded awesome Bulldog! Even with me and my buddy in it it definitely felt strong!

Thanks, Darrin. I originally wanted a blue one, cuz I wanted to do the bay in silver and blue, and I thought the silver AEM looked a little gray. But, after seeing it installed, I'm likin' it a lot!!

 

Is it worth getting living in Florida? Or is the rain just going to kill it?

I want that sound! Does it sound anything like the RSX hitting VTEC? That thing roars!

 

i got it in red to match the writing on the engine cover. and the S on the back of my car, lol

 

You can get the Bypass, but it'll rob a little power. Theoretically, if you don't drive through big-ass puddles at WOT, you should be fine.

I'm not sure what the RSX sounds like in VTEC. It's been some time since my dealer let me take one out for a rip.

I love the scream, so it's definitely worth it to me. And, I think it looks good...win-win.
