I'm officially catless.... *pics*
and I'm not ozone friendly anymore.. :P Well, yesterday I went and tackled a lil project for my STi, that is to install my 3" catless downpipe(mated to a stealth back STi exhaust)! The install went pretty smooth and the only thing that is a PITA are the hosings from the Top mount intercooler from the back and the freakin charged pipe from the turbo.. I bust a few knuckles taking that shit in and out, but other than that it went butter smooth.
All in all, I was amazed how this thing woke up my VF39 turbo! I'm spiking 15.5-16 psi and it falls and hold at 13.5 psi.. Oh yeah, and no boost creep at all. I drove it a few miles around the block and to my butt dyno it pulls like a biatch! If you guys thought a stock STi is quick, mine pulls 1-2X harder than a stock form. The exhaust rumbles a lil bit more, with ocassional back firing, and the sweet sound of turbo spooling and whistling while you let off the throttle. Ok, here are some pics of the mayhem from yesterday..
Me smoking the pipes..:P
TMIC are off..
Stock dp are off..
Now, that is a healthy turbo.
Bling

Have you tried some 4th gear runs? I have read that a catback gives you boost creep and that porting the wastegate is the only solution to prevent it.

I'm spiking 16 psi and hold it at 13.5 all the way.. No sign of boost creep..
Some people with turbo back and MBC are like this: 18 psi spike hold at 15 psi then it will spike at 19-20 psi..That is some crazy boost creep..

Nice! You notice any smells from your exhaust from running catless. Every other person i talk to says it smells like sulfer all the time on theirs, but mine never smells bad at all.
