Im not getting CLS anymore... Im moving instead, but i need help on a car still....

Well guys i made a big choice. I decieded i rather move to downtown chicago instead of buying a brand new car. Im 20 and i want to move out of my parents house...so heres the deal, my lease is over in may, and i need a car under $17,000, i need a car with class.. so what car can i get? It has to be used since my taste is a bit classy. Anyone have any ideas? I want a car that is used but yet people still say "damn nice car"

How old would you want it to be?
I think it will be tough to get a "damn nice car" for 17. Maybe a slightly used 99-00 Jetta, new body style.

2.5 TL.

You can pick one up for $14,500 - $15,000
pretty easily. With tax and license, you'll just be under your $17,000 mark.

Forget buying a new car. Get a Legend LS Coupe, You should be able to find a 94 or 95 with decent milage for about 17, also they made 6 speed manuals
I have an auto Coupe and love it.
Check out the picts of my car and see for your self.

I say you go for a 1997 MAxima SE you can get em for about that price or lower, and they've got some good kick, and they look pretty nice.

You can also look at a lexus 1993-94 sc300, 1996 audi A4, or a 94-95 mazda rx7.

Honestly, I think you should look at a Nissan 300ZX, you might even be able to get a twin turbo. Those things will always be beautiful!!

I won't recommend you to get an used "turbo" car...their ex-owners probably just kick-in
the engine as often as they can..IMO

Legend sounds a good idea to me,too
My neighbor owns one for 8 years, still looks brand new !! better quality than our CL >_<

I second the Maxima suggestion. Got a 95 GLE in 97 or so for 18,000 so a two yr. old SE should be just about right.

How about a new Accord. They discount the hell out of them. If you can live with the 4 cylinder you can get close;plus the warranty thrown in. People also think you can afford more but are just sensible. You can't go wrong. Plus they hold their value. The 4 is pretty peppy too.

thanks for the input, i dont want a car more than 4 years old... which i am leaning towards the maxima, since my brother has one and i love it. AAnother thing is that i want a car that hasnt changed much in design in years. So the legends out..I really dont care for the power of the car since i will be living in chicago and cant race much, so i think the accord is a great idea too..keep the ideas coming

My 89' Legend Coupe is OLD, yet still looks
and drives fabulous. Obviously I'm biased,
but people do occasionally compliment the
car. Handling wise, the car drives like
new (minor complications since I wrapped it
around a pole). Also, the car is flawless
and hasn't needed any repairs for anything
other than maintaince after all these years.
You could probably purchase one of these
beauties for ~6k. If I were to drive
across country tomorrow, I'd trust and take
the Legend without even thinking twice.
