I'm back . . .

Hello -

I haven't posted since shortly after I smashed up my 2001 CL-S a couple of years ago. (The info in my sig is old news.)

But, now I'm considering buying a 2003 CL-S with automatic transmission. I loved my 2001, and would really like to have another CL-S to drive.

But, I don't much about the 2003. Is it essentailly the same as the 2001? What do I need to be concerned about?

I know that that the automatic transmission on the 2001 was a disaster. I suffered the meltdown that many others did. Is the automatic transmission on the 2003 ok?

Also, the 2001 was supposed to run ok on regular gas, but I never tried it. How 'bout running the 2003 on regular?

I'll appreciate any insights you folks can share with me.

Please and thank you.

It's the same car no difference except a few minor appearance items.
The trans is still a problem. Only some 03's are covered under the extended trans warranty, have a dealer check the VIN.
Premium should be used since the engine has high compression. You can run 87 but you will have reduced performance. There's a ton of threads on that debate.

in the past week i've seen two 03 6 speeds get picked up for under 10k. get a 6 speed to guarantee yourself plenty of driver seat time and not dealership waiting room time.
