Grabber blue 1970 Boss 351 or Boss 429 Mustang.

1969 Shelby 500 but one of those would be at least $70,000.

If you mean can you BUILD a replicar for under $35 K, YES, it is possible. A good start is to look around and you can build an 11 second car that has the balls of the 427, but with the handling of the 289. Get a 351 Windsor block and stroke it out to 408 or 416 (416 was nixed).

Depending on various vendors, their various kit options, goodies etc, you can get something going for around $35K. You can get it registered as a 1965 “kit car” and from there you can add fuel injection, hotter cams, S/C etc, etc. If you really come into some $$$, you can always drop a lot of cash and get a side-oiler all-aluminum 427 V8 and scare the shit out of yourself. (600+ HP @ $10K+ more)

The $35K version (get 351W block at junk yard from a 1969 Ford XXX donor) will make 400 HP RWHP (with the right Edlebrock parts) and 408 stocker kit and make 400+ HP with nitrous and no S/C. In a 2400 lb car, that's fast.

Get your wrenches out, and start picking pieces up at the junk yard.

Somewhere to dig around for info:
