Just a little something that was on my mind today so .....

Maybe not exactly like this because this is obviously a Honda but is something like this a worthy succesor of our beloved CL?
Opinions please........

I love the new accord coupe...just want too much damn money for it...i was gonna trade my 01 cl for an 08 accord coupe v6 auto navi...they offered with $8500...but the accord friggin woulda came out to like $30,000 with tax...couldn't do it...plus i felt really bad gettin rid of my baby...by the way i'm dying to race 1 on the streets!! See how the old cl stacks up
I LOVE the new Accord coupe. The styling, handling, and of course the speed. My brother has an 08 6-speed w/ nav:
This was back when we picked it up. He let me drive it 70 miles home.

Love the looks of the accord, and if it were rwd, it would be in my driveway already... Black/Black with a 6mt...
BUT my CLS 6spd is pretty much everything the new accord is and it's paid for... except for looks.
I don't think acura is going to come out with a new CL. If you want a sporty coupe, buy the accord coupe. Acura is looking to be content putting out SUV's, Sedans and Crossovers... If you want a sporty coupe, you're going to have to look elsewhere...
You can check the autonews forum for discussion on where acura is going:

There were talks of a "four door" coupe, but those plans have been scrapped along with the NSX replacement due to the economy:

What Acura needs is to bring back the CL and scrap either the RL or TL. Why do they have 3 sedans that look almost the same? A fully loaded TL might as well carry the RL badge so one of them is obsolete.
Bringing back the CL with a good design can steal customers from Infiniti and there G coupe :cents:
A 2 door version of the RL would work for me, but it can't be 4083lbs !!
If Acura took the S2k, stretched it out a bit to make it a 2+2 coupe, slap a 3.5l v6 and a hard top on it so it weighs like 3000lbs it would kick ass...

Ya I don't understand why Acura got rid of both of its coupes. Hopefully they'll add a 2door into the lineup soon but it doesn't look good now that the new nsx isn't going into production
Honda/Acura is pretty dumb if you look at the way they sell cars. The reason the CL faded out was that the '03 Accord was better looking and could be equiped similarily. The RL looks exactly like the Accord sedan?! what was the point in making it a lot more money with the Acura badge?!
If I was good at photoshop I would make up a rendering of a 2-door TSX that could become the new "CL" and it would make sense to have the option of the 2 or 4 door V6 luxury car for Acura. It could be a viable rival for the 3-series, with the new V6.
The new TL should have AT LEAST a 325hp engine and be the 5-series rival.
A new RL will definelty have to look better than the new TL/TSX and not look like a frigging accord sedan!!!! It could also have a beefy V8 to propel its fat arse around!!! lol
whyd u use the crappy wheel style?! lol shudve chopped it with the split 5 spokes.

I tried my best guys.......oh yea i stole your idea CL-SA
Acuras problem is brand recognition, or lack thereof. All of the new cars are hideous because of that damn grill. And now they are putting it on the MDX. They have the "lesser" models to compete with what most people are buying, but they don't have the halo car that would actually bring people to the showrooms.
BMW has the M division. Audi has the S and RS vehicles. Benz has AMG.
I think Acura is trying to do way too much with way too little.
/slightly off topic rant.
I find it laughable that Acura doesn't have one coupe in it;s line up...
They really need to come up with a followup to the CL.....
If ACURA were to do it right, they'd offer a coupe version of the RL. For those of us who remember ... the original LEGEND came in Coupe and Sedan versions (I had 188K miles on my '90 Legend Coupe before I traded it in for a '98 M3 Coupe). Time to get away from this Toyoto Camry/Lexus ES nonsense which Honda based the CL's on and create a true Luxury Sport Coupe to compliment their luxury sedans. Otherwise, the A5 is looking better and better all the time.
