If I were to install on my own????

I'm trying to buy a comptech supercharger used, and my dad believes he can do the install. If he installed the kit, would the warranty be voided? And are there any other problems besides the belt and plugs? I would also need to buy the icebox, alternator bracket, and pulley.

Generally yes the warranty would be voided. However some dealers are mod friendly, & don't care, others do. Even if your dealer was ok with mods, they might not want to do the work if the supercharger wasn't installed by them & you had a problem with the engine, or related hardware.

the factory warranty would be voided, I don't think the comptech one would be though

The factory warranty would only be voided on the parts that would be damaged by the supercharger, not on everything.

Well, if your dad and you are skilled, then you could probably do it.

But I've heard that supercharger install is pretty tough, because you have to make sure the belt and pulleys are lined up perfectly, etc, etc.

Some dealership will install and honor the warranty. But it is not common. After all, it is a major power adder.
