Icebox vs K&N drop in w/o resonator
Now I know this has been discussed in this forum before. But I can never find hard evidence from the findings. We all know the Icebox is a proven competitor and for the price its well worth it. But what about the K&N drop in and the removal of the resonator? The only visual difference I see is the cold air attachment and the foam filter. Is this enough of a factor for a big hp gain? I have been working with the performance aftermarket scene for a long time now and when it comes down to intakes, there really isnt too much of a difference. Does anyone have dyno results proving a difference between these two mods? I'm just one curious dude

even K&N said don't expect any gains from their filter, even you take out the box it might only get 1-2 whp at most
the comptech icebox on 6 speed has 14whp gain, and the dyno graph is on their website~

I'm going with the K&N drop in... I had briefly thought about the icebox, but it seems to be just a means to use a cone filter instead of a panel filter. It also eliminates the resonator, but using the stock components, removing the resonator and improvising some sort of custom pick up tube to grab cool air (replacing the stock resonator) would seem to me to be almost as effective.

I'm going to keep my 6spd stock, so the K&N drop in looked like the best option for me. And for $40, the price was right.

My opinion is still that headers are the best bang for the buck
