Icebox, so easy
Icebox, so easy
I had a K&N drop in before in my Prelude where they said that you needed to clean it every 30-40K miles. The Icebox in the CL they claimed every oil change and I laughed at it. But...BUT!!!!! I did it after 8K miles (mostely highway). There was a fair amount of build up but nothing on the outside or color-wise that would say that the filter was compromised. Lots of open filter but you could tell where the air flow was since it was a bit darker in that area, a bit of sand, a bit of skooch (sp?). There was also sand in the Icebox housing...not that it got in the filter but it does make it's way up there. Anyway, the Unifilter cleaner took no time at all, spray, rinse, dry (5 hours in the sun), oil, and reinstall. Where the filter is foam, it is faster than the K&N thing which was more of a.....cardboard thing...not really but close. I was pleased. But.....I don't need to drive the CL because.... We have a new MDX that wants to play!
Dean...anything for the MDX planned? I'd hate to buy k&N when Comptech might want to play...
Anyhow, as an Icebox followup, I liked it. I pulled out the filter, my fiance' said "ewwwww" and I sprayed on the cleaner, rinsed and it went totally clean.
Say no more!
4 stars. (no comparison)
