After installing my Icebox last weekend, (with the help of Chod) we spilled a little antifreeze on the engine. And after 2 days of driving I can still smell it.

How long does it take to go away?

Do I need to use a engine cleaner to get rid of the smell?

Also I don't think I have a leak as there are no puddles under the car.

(by the way I have never needed to do it in any of my other cars where the fill wasn't way away from the engin so any that I spilled would get on the engin block)

 

the same thing happened when i changed my intake, but I couldn't smell the coolant. I didn't worry about it, I cleaned off as much as I could when it happened and forgot about it after that.

 

Beelzebub whats your overall impression of the icebox after you've had some time to drive with it?

 

I just installed my icebox. Did you guys notice a rough idle the first couple of days. The RPMS almost dip to the point where the car shutters.

check your clamps....sounds like you might have a leak.

So far it is a nice addition to the car, no loud scream even in vtec which is what I wanted, I cannot have too much noise for my daily driver. It would make me insane (More than I am already!)

I have been able to chirp in third gear which I have never been able to do before..

I haven't noticed a rough idle but I now get a sigh when I shut off the engine.

 

you couldn't chirp a 6speed CL-S in 3rd?? is this normal?
