Yep... Do you remember the idea of cooling the intake air charge....

Finally someone is listenning and it is the Winner of SEMA 2002.... Racing Performance Product of the Year....

More info here: http://www.designengineering.com/

I just tried going to their site but it was down...What does this product do?....Obviously it cools the air for a CAI....(right?) Does it replace your air filter on the end of the intake?

Nitrous cools the intake charge by some ~80 degrees .. so when your spraying its a moot point...... Bu anything that needs to be charged (If it does I havent hit the site yet) is a PITA to maintain

Is there such a thing as too cold?

I mean I'm not a materials engineer, but internal parts of an engine can run with temps of 2000 degrees, no? And when you factor in a gas thats in a much different phase than the phase expected in a normal combustion process, don't the internal parts get stressed exponentially?

For example, a very hot plate of metal in a state of near expansion, gets cooled too abruptly and contracts violently. As a result the plate warps.

Or could it be that bearings and rods can take this sort of "extra" punishment, a sort of over-engineering shall we say?
Unless its a type of memory metal (a very cool subject in chem lab, btw) that bends back into shape, but I doubt it because its extremely pricey.
