You and all the other whiners really need to put a sock in it. Much easier for people like yourself who are doing absolutely nothing, creating nothing, waiting for other people to come out with products and then criticize them when things aren't out on time.

YEah really, it would suck if you made about $7.5 million year in revnue and then have one of the foremost companies in your respective field ask you to partner with them. Yeah i guess their business sucks

Comptech just doesn't set customer expectations correctly, and always miss release dates, for various reasons. Just the way they operate.

youre hitting the nail on the head....they never live up to their release dates, or even the ESTIMATED release dates...

there is no question, Comptech = good quality....but on the PR end and as far as sticking to plans and schedules and what they announce...they hugely dissapoint. if they suffering in this department and also, continue to be unwilling to price their products competitively, soon there "superior quality across the board" wont add up to much anymore and wont make up for what they lack in other areas. if you go to their site..look at products for ANY car....EVERY SINGLE header, supercharger package, clutch package, sway bar package, etc, etc for EVERY car should be AT LEAST 100-500 bucks cheaper....they are just milking people for all they can...and hey, im sure its been working great for them but as time goes on and modding cars becomes more popular and more compaines start making products for the same cars, comptech will have to seriously reorganize....look at the OBX headers for example...theyve probably lost HUNDREDS of header sales already due to OBX.....but whatever, i dont really care, i love my comptech springs and continue to consider getting the sway bars but thats it....jackson racing, bring on that supercharger!!

How's that? What expectations would they be? Quality products that peform?? Let me refer you to the thread in the Comptech section of this board where Dean asked everybody their thoughts. NOT ONE PERSON wanted a product that could be improved.

They put out solid products with the utmost concern for quality. I'd rather them miss release dates while attempting to PERFECT products so that whiny customers have a solid performance upgrade.

I don't agree with some of the stuff Comptech does but you the criticism your are directing towards them is unwarranted.

Actually that arguement is somewhat not valid. It's similar to the whole argument of the Music industry vs. File sharing. It's hard to calculate figures of loss sales because you don't know if they would have bought the product or not. The Music industry claims they lost millions to almost billions of dollars in loss sales. But who knows if the person who downloaded the song would have bought the album. As with the case with the headers, CT probably would not have sold those extra 100 that you mention. OBX just found that price niched and was able to possibly scoop up an extra 100 of people who were probably not going to buy it. But then again, maybe OBX did take like about 10-15 of those people who were about to purchase the CT, but instead went with OBX. Sorry for being off-topic.

Bottom line no one really knows how comptech runs their buisness and i can't tell them how, but when you tell customers products are comming and eta's change like the wind, they have some internal issues. BOTTOM LINE... PAIN whether it's logistics, enginering or R&D. There is some disconect @ comptech. I work for a huge networking manufacturer and if we blew eta's like comptech , someone is getting canned.

Like Zapata said its really easy to whine. Do you guys understand how many companies push back release dates. Do you go and yell at them. Comptech makes quality products, they dont devote their sole purpse to just one product (i logically assume) and of course they want money. So as soon as they can get it out, dont u think they will? My only complaint with comptech is that they dont make a tranny.

I don't think he does, all he's doing is backing the only company that gives a crap about our cars. I'd like the SC today, but i'd rather wait and get it when Comptech is satisfied. We should be kissing their ass, and not bag on them.

Yes, a tranny would be great.

With a shift kit in it and torque converter options we could easily knock another .5 secs off of our 1/4 mile times.

$100 a hr? I doubt seriously you make that or you wouldn't be driving a CL-S.

Why the heck would you be making rude comments to other members here? Everyone is here to help in some way. Comments like yours isn't right and needs to be thrown into the trash.

Hey guys, good things are worth waiting for. I compliment CompTech for not releasing a product that's not up to their quality standards. When it comes out, it comes out. Be patient, it's almost here.

Thank you for introducing some sense to these fucking morons, Zapata.

SOME OF US ADULTS HERE shop on QUALITY, not price.

We should definitely be kissing comptechs ass. Without them, the CL-S wouldn't have gained nearly the popularity it has. Their parts speak for themselves.

Personally this is a real educated person the way he speaks.

You are the type of person that degrades this site. Why jump others cases because they went the cheaper route? Why get a CL-S when you can have a Mercedes Coupe, or a BMW M3 coupe. You went the cheaper route.

Personally the CL-S is perfect for stock, if we had no mods, I wouldn't care. A car is a car, its made for one thing, to get you from point a to b. I never planned to get headers, but once OBX had some for $350, it was a urge I could not resist.

People here are not morons as you call it. They are smart on where they spend their money. Why spend $1000-1200 for a piece of metal, when you can spend $350 for headers, and buy a cai, sways, springs, and more for that price?

Personally there seems to be alot of stuck up people here who own Comptech headers and other things. You people need to chill.

My .02 cents, and don't take it personal, I am just stating what I am seeing.

Hey dipshit, I got my headers used, for 1/2 price. Even if I had to buy them new I would've gotten comptechs.

And I didn't go the cheaper route as far as cars are concerned. If I WANTED an //M3, I'd have one. Money isn't an object to me, but living within my means is. A massive home outweighs driving an //M3 or a benz to me. And this is the case with the majority of the population, jackass.

Piss on you for getting brainwashed into thinking you're getting the same 'piece of metal' (ignorant description of the day), for the same price.

The two headers aren't the same. No one on this site has a dyno of JUST the OBX headers alone. Comptech does. Until that comes out, shut the fuck up, and don't waste my time typing responses to ignorant posts like this.

This forum is for opinions. Don't take anything personally because everyone is entitled to their own opinion and shouldn't be looked down upon for stating it. Opinion is what makes this forum work and being different helps make the world go 'round. There... you've heard it from the "Coconut Head."

How about you reframe from the personal attacks and calling names like a kid.

Also, you just answered my question and proved to everyone you are just like the others who bought OBX headers.

You could have gotten a M3, but didn't, because you wanted to have a nice home instead. Well others have there prioritys as well and needed to go the cheaper route on the headers. Some people don't make near what others do, had to get the CL-S instead of a M3, but also has to get the OBX headers because they are more affordable. Then they can have more money for living, etc. Get it? Btw, I haven't posted a ignorant post. You sir are the one posting crap.

Grow up, your name suits you really well.

Btw, the headers are defintely made different and quality, but from experience on working on many cars in the past and having custom exhaust work done, they will work just as good as Comptechs

Your argument is pointless. IF someone can afford a $30K car, I find it hard to believe how dropping a grand on 30hp for headers is going to break them. Sorry.

And you're right, my name does suit me, I'm a kid. A kid with a brain, you dumbass.

Should I REFRAME from the personal attacks? You sir are an idiot. It's REFRAIN!
I find it a complete WASTE of time to argue with someone who can't even spell.

You have the brains of a jackass sir. Once you can learn to spell, please come back and work on defending your pointless points.

This Quote cracks me up the most:

1) Definitely made different and quality? That makes absolutely no sense to me, or anyone in my office right now who's reading and laughing about just how incompetent you are.

2) You've worked on many cars in the past, and have had custom exhaust work done-this means that OBX headers are about the same as the Comptechs. Talk about a VALID POINT!

How can that mean that the headers are just as good as comptechs? you have no dyno proven #'s to back up your claim. Just some stupid run on sentence about how you've worked on many cars, and had a custom exhaust done!

I'd love to have the IceBox, in fact, I think I'd definitely ditch my AEM CAI to get it.

The reason I don't like the AEM is because it's a total pain in the ass to clean the K&N on the end of it.

I just posted this over in the Comptech forum:

PLEASE DON' KILL THE MESSENGER.....

Comptech has figured out what is causing the noise at idle in the Icebox and has a fix ready. This fix will cause the Icebox to be redesigned and new molds be made, new product produced, etc. Because of this, the Icebox will not be available until after the first of the year. The fix will not effect performance at all, but will take time to implement. Sorry about the delay in getting to everyone on this, but I have been trying to get as much information as possible before posting something up half-*ssed.

There is another way to fix the problem, but it will cost you about $4000 since the cars that have the S/C installed do not have the noise at idle.

On a side note, the automatic S/C is coming along nicely and may also be available by the end of the year. Comptech is doing some testing on a 2003 TL-S next week.

Thank you all for your patience in this matter

Dean Baty

Why do we have people like this on our forum who wishes to call others names and start taking apart peoples posts on grammer and spelling? Alot of people on here don't go back to see how they typed stuff. I don't, because I am not writing a important letter. I know alot of people who own a $30-35k car, but are tight on money and live in a apartment. They can't afford to spend $1k. You seem to be the type that was spoiled by your parents.

You are a waste of my time. I stated the facts, you stated your opinion which was a waste. Until you have something SMART to say that is logical, don't reply.
