iam about to buy a cl. need help
hi i looked at a 2001 cl 3.2 type s. it has 110992 mi. for $4000. i checked the carfax and its good no wrecks. i test drove it, it was smooth and great. only thing is that all the lights are on like the check engine, oil, abs, etc. but the engine and everything is good as far as i can tell. i used to have a 96 2.5 tl, I really want this cl should i get it?

oil light on means low oil pressure means possible permanent engine damage, get the code for the CEL, abs means your abs might not be working properly. those are some major issues.

Pull the codes. Take it to a dealer, they will tell u what's wrong with the abs. Turn traction control off and floor it. Wheels should break loose, then turn it on and floor it, it thw wheels break loose ans heep spinning, u have a problem with a wheel speed sensor. About $80 or so for a sensor. Only way to know which one is to ohm them out or take it to a dealer. Chech all the fuses also. Do this on wet pavement

You do know there's a good chance the tranny will crap out?
You do know there a major service at 105K miles that includes a timing belt change? That's around $800 or so?
You do know all the dash lights on are bad?
Sounds to me you need to do more research.
$4K is a good deal but only if those lights can be cleared & the timing belt has been done.

Are you serious?
All those lights you named have to mean SOMETHING. They're not there for decoration and to look all pretty...
There are several CL's out there, keep looking, I wouldn't even give this one a chance with all of that nonsense going on, who cares about carfax nowadays anyways? try autocheck.
oh, and a mechanic...thats if you REALLY are set on this car. goodluck.

Did u ask the guy/or place selling it why all the check everything lights are on?
I work at a DLR and we would never let anyone test drive a car that has any light on that is not suppose to be on even the low tire pressure light!
If its a dlr that is trying to sell it I cant belive they even let u test drive it with all those lights on, sounds to me like the tranny is about to go and they prob poured some lucus in the tranny fluid to keep it running till they sell it the u take it home and 3 days later the tranny falls out!!
Stay away!
