I wonder where my car is now???
What's up guys, it's been almost a year since Ive browsed around the old CL forums. A lot has happened since then, just to keep some who might be interested up to date:
Nov 2004--traded the CL for a Cobra
Oct. 2005--Started up my own performance shop in Indian Trail, NC (we do work on domestic and imports)
Dec. 2005--eclipsed the 850rwhp mark with the 2004 Cobra (stock motor, twin 67mm's turbo's)
June 2006--new motor ordered, now shooting for 1200+rwhp
Sept. 2006--bought a Dynojet dyno for the shop, so we'll tuning cars now
Future---hope to expand the shop and tune all types of cars
I was just thinking about how much fun my old Cls 6speed was and wondered where it was now?

Mine is under the car's section, top one...here are a few shots to tease...we now have a Dynojet 248 dyno, so feel free to swing by and throw it on the rollers
turbo's are hidden behind the bumper

Nice CL.
For those of you in the area, feel free to swing by the shop anytime or if you guys want to set up a dyno day, let me know...we'd also love to get in to modifying imports (again) so if you need any installs, let me know.

Nice numbers.
Let me ask you this, do you have a picture of the top of the engine. I remember seeing one with the hood opened. (this one was stock) and I thought it was SO lame how the big intake tube flattened to almost thing to make it to the engine.
I'm wondering if you relocated some things to get that to flow better.
Best of luck with the shop.

Phil...this is how my turbo setup looks, kind of dirty b/c we were still working on it, but it's a 3" pipe all the way up to the throttle body
...the stock setup is not as wide and does flatten to more of an oval shape at the throttle body, but that's just b/c we have oval throttle bodies. The older 99-01 Cobra's definitely left a little to be desired, but their intakes flow really well when ported.

Okay, the Cobra I saw was definitly older than yours than...
the intake tube was plastic and it squeezed really flat, to make it between the bar that connects the top of the shock towers.
I don't even see that bar on yours, so perhaps they strengthened the chassy enough to not need it anymore, OR they said to heck with this, it wont' help us at all going in a straight line, take it off![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Anyways, regardless of my love or hate for mustangs (or ford), I can really appreciate the effort you put in yours. so big thumbs up for that.
I also really like how you'r doing the sleeper look. Usually I see the exact opposite. I see so many Steeda or Saleen and then they pull off the line you're like: "OMG, was that a V6?!! ahahahahah"
Also, how's the lag with the turbo setup? Seems to be you have enough displacement to get the boost going fairly fast, but just curious.

Thanks for the compliments. Yeah, they make a strut tower brace, but I opted not to have it, I dont have a front sway bar either. Turbo lag really isnt too bad, even with the stock motor we saw peak boost around 4k RPM's...with the larger motor (not see in pic, but looks the same...324ci) we hope to see peak boost around 3500RPM's. We're still working out some electrical gremlins, but hopefully this weekend she'll crank. I really want to get another CL and build it up, but damn FWD just stinks when you really start putting some power down.

Which is good, because those things don't come free.
Luckly, my cousin is a racer, he drives an Integra in SCCA's Improved Touring, and as a result, he has the whole performance stuff going. Which is great, because I get to drive faster cars when I want, but don't have to mess around with the maintenance

So my car's the "were going somewhere far" ride and he's got the fun cars. Works perfect.
what electrical issues did you get into?
about CL being FWD, it would be sweet to make a rwd one, but there's no room at all under the floorboard to get a shaft back there.. Unless maybe you put the engine in the trunk.
A while back, I saw this guy that had a Volvo T5, and he made it a T10.. meaning that he took another engine, put it in the trunk and it was pushing the rear wheels. So his car was 4wd, with 2 engines. However, i do remember he was having overheating issues for the engine in the back.

We put a standalone computer system in the car and it's not wanting to work properly. I know we hooked everything up right, so it may just be a simple faulty sensor or something...we just havent had time to trouble shoot much. That Volvo sounds very interesting...almost like that Tiburon one company built a few months back
