I wish the seat memory buttons worked while the car was in motion.
I'd like to be able to go from "pimp mode" (Memory 2) to "race mode" (Memory 1) on the fly. I would have to stop, put the car in park, hit the button, and put it back in gear to do that right now.
I wonder if there's a way to make it work while the car's in motion.

Me too! I hate having to put the car in park to change between memory positions and to set them. The memory function should also work with a tilt/telescoping steering wheel.

I know man I don't like that either. And if you are letting someone out of the car (to drop them off) and they are in the back seat the seat will not go forward unless you put it in park. And if you shift from park while seat is moving it will stop. Also if you start engine while it is moving it will also stop. Frustrating

Unless I’m mistaken, you CAN use the memory buttons while the ignition in “ON”.
You just need to hold the button in.
I’m not sure about switching between 1 & 2, but I know this works when you move the drivers seat out of position and want to return to the “memory #1” position.
Try it........Hold the button IN.

My friends used to own a 91 Legend that I drove occasionally. I can certainly appreciate our feature not letting you go from one setting to the other while the car is in motion. One time when I had the Legend set for my seating comfort, I was cleaning the inside and inadvertantly bumped the memory button, that was set for their teenage daughter. I was slowly squashed up against the steering wheel and my head squashed up against the ceiling. That would cause a nasty accident if it had happened in traffic--I could barely move.

I believe the bimmers (and most newer cars) don't allow this either. The reason being, what if you and your wife shared the car and she's 5 feet and your 6'2". You hit her memory button by mistake while driving and it crushes you. That's a "safety" feature!
(oops didn't read sundance_gold's post, but same argument!)

I thought for sure you could override this by holding the button in, but I tried it on the way home and as you guys said…..it only works in PARK.

Yeah, lawyers screw everything up. It would be nice though if you could by-pass this safety feature by holding in the memory button for about 2 seconds while not in park. This would prevent the accidental tapping of the button and being thrown into your windshield.
