I want Duece Zeros (20s) Fit?

Ok I want to pimp out my car so everyone can notice me when I drive. Can I put 20X8.5s on my car. If so i'm doing it there are a few i'm looking at I think Lowenhart LD1's will be what I go with. $6,000 for rims and tires. If I can't get 20s then I ain't do it.

The whole problem is tire size and lowering the car. What's wrong with 19's??

Dude, I pretty much coined the phrase "those look to small" on this site, and let me tell you, THOSE do NOT look too small - THOSE look JUST RIGHT. Too small is all 17" and under and some 18".

Those 19" LD-1s own me. In fact, they own us all.

Yeah I know 19s look nice. But i'm trying to do what no one else has done, I want to stand out. If they fit with no problem then i'll do it, if there is any problem then I will just forget about the whole thing. tires I would get are 245/35/20s with 20X8.5 rims LD-1s if those fit, I got to hit up my bank account for 6g's and go chop them shits. Anthony
I will be driving really slow after I get these, not only cause they weigh so much but just because for 6K I wanna show these babies off. Like that 7-up commerical on the Nascar Track if anyone has seen it.

if you get the 20x8.5s, you can get the following offsets and disk types
- low disk, 58 offset
- wlow disk. 57 offset
- wwwlow disk, 56 offset

not sure what the w and ww mean, but getting low disk (compared to high) means more lip because the outer rim of the wheel face - that meets the rim lip - is set more inward.

this combo is definitely larger than the stock rolling diameter so your mileage and speedo readings will not be accurate.

Dubs will fit. I've seen them on a type S before. The car was slammed on 20" br5's. No fender rolling required. So you wouldn't be the first. I personally wouldn't go Dubs on a type S, because they'd slow you down way too much. You'd have a lot of cars smoking you if you slapped on some chrome dubs.

Close i'm 18, but when i'm 30 I will still want everyone to notice me so that was a stupid quote by you.

Yeah lets race anytime, Come to the track Friday we are going to Firebird,

If someone else has it that's not good, I wanna do something that someone else doesn't have. What about three TV's front with GPS passenger DVD driver PS2. No one has that.

And how are $6,000 rims Rice BBsAcura. That doesn't make any sense

Why would you want to make your car handle worse and also make it slower?

I don't want to make my car slow, but to quote my dad last night he said stop looking to make your car faster you have a POS 6 cylinder that is supposed to be for luxury it is not a fast car. He said if you want something fast then you will sacfrice luxury. Why don't you just make it look sharp so people notice it.

So now I'm just thinking of things I can do to it. I'm confused one day I want to throw in Headers Intake Pulleys
The next day I want TV's
Now I want rims
Let me know what you think I should do.

I disagree with your dad, a car can be both luxurious and fast at the same time. 20" rims will not make your car luxurious. I really think that excessivly large rims take away from the look of the car. My advice, if you want rims, is to either get 17 or 18" rims. They will look plenty big and give you the best performance and ride. Make sure that you get high quality tires, skimping on cheap tires is the easiest way to sacrefice fun and performance. I would go for the performance mods, but I think pulleys can be dangerous for the engine, I would stay away from them. TVs? Why would you watch TV in your car?

Do you have the standard 16" rims? May want to consider just getting Potenza S-03s, you'll get great performance.

What you need, is a big sign that says: "HEY! LOOK at ME!"

Your not going to pull off anything original with your car, so you'd be better off dropping that criteria right now. Further, do you really believe 20" rims will enhance the luxury qualtities of your ride? Have you ever ridden in a car with excessivley large rims? Every bump in the road travels straight to your ass and back. Not very luxurious in my opinion, and a real pain in my opinion. Slows uyou down and it requires extra special attention at all bumps, dips, and a keen eye for pot-holes at ALL times.

By the time you are thirty, you will have lost the desire for so much attnetion. Your actually a little bit behind the ball at 18, shouldn't you be graduating from highschool pretty quick? You remind me of those guys at my HS that cruised around on 19" rims in their daddys M-Benz. A rolling joke for the entire school.

You want attention? Get a bike. In general, you will be better off holding on to that money, you're going to need it later on down the road if you really feel that your proving something about yourself through your car.

I have 17" CL-S Rims that are chromed and they look real good IMO.

I'm not in high school I'm a freshmen at ASU.

I know the ride would be shitty with big rims but I just wanted to do something.

The TV in the front would be for an aftermarket GPS system.

SP 5000s, best tires made Those are all season tires. They aren't bad, but the Potenza S-03s are the best, believe me, I have them and have tried many other max and high performance tires. I just think that huge rims don't look that good and sacrefice ride and handling.

is everyone getting pissed that this dude is younger than them, and can drop 6k on wheels?

Why so much fucking flame?

pga, ignore...its your cash, you got it, not anybody else.

Do what YOU want with YOUR money.

Whats up with everyone insulting this guy, and bringing age into this?

He is asking for advice with putting 20's on.

You all want people to notice your car, in a good way. So what if this dude came out and said what everyone thinks?

if this board was www.acura-sleepers.com i would understand.

Just get 19s, nothing smaller. 20s may be a little excessive for a CL, but 19s are perfect.

You can fit 20"s.

I dunno how good you can plus size with them, check a tire calculator... so your speedo/odo may be a little off... who cares as long as you dont have navi though.

However, I dunno how well the 8.5" wide will fit.

I would look for something in 20x8.

BTW, I know your not OVERLY concerned with weight... but it SHOULD be a factor. If you can get a lighter rim that is still up to the bling bling standards... go for it.

20" LD1s are gonna weigh like 50lbs each.

Still pimp though.

Thanks amir that's cool of you. Yeah I was talking to Mark and Justin at lunch today wondering why so much flame. I was basically asking if 20s would fit cause it was an idea crossing my head. I want to do something nice. The funny thing is if I just posted 20s on my car everyone would be drooling, now that i'm asking the question some are just acting like fags.

But thanks Amir for posting that, later man. If I can find nice 19s that look good and weigh in the low to mid 30s at best I will get them I didn't konw those LD1s were 50 a piece soopa that's way to heavy dude.

That would get you noticed

I never said any specific names, you didn't make fun of me as I recall you just said something about the Sport 5000s but that's cool that's an Opinoin. I'm talking about the people who flamed me for saying I want people to notice my car and whoever was saying something about my age and acting like a highschooler. Personally I don't care cuase I got the money to do it but I was just wondering if they fit. EVerything is cool with me anyhow but I don't think you said anything i'm not reading through it again too lazy. I'm trying to think of how to make more money.

haha yeah, the 50 pounds thing makes no sense at all, i was gonna say something...but decided not to

you could probably find 20's within 30-35 pounds for sure.

I mean our cl rims are 25 pounds, and their 17"...3 more inches being 25 more pounds, even though this assumption would not make sense, you can still see why it would be kind of akward.

What's the difference?

BTW, in my unsolicited opinion, that is about the most ghetto thing you could do to your car. Stop by Scottsdale Lotus (Raintree/Hayden) and take a look at the Diablo roadster thay have with massive chrome Lowenharts...it's such a shame. That's the "ballplayer special"...more cash than taste.

Any pretensions to sportiness are gone if you get those wheels.

sure, you can find 20"s within the 30-35lb range... but certainly not LD1s.

those things have about 10x the metal of our stock rims... so add 3 inches and all that extra medal and your talkin WEIGHT.
